With the unprecedented times we are experiencing, we believe it is worth giving you another update.
Current trend with system replacements: Several clubs are now moving up their replacement schedules, or at least looking to lock in prices, even if it means purchasing and storing materials 12 to 18 months ahead of the anticipated installation date. This is a good thing, but it also contributes to the overall state of affairs. Costs are rising so if the item is made from metal, plastic or resin, it still continues to increase in cost. If a manufacturer has already had a cost increase, it does not mean that they will not have another cost increase. Many allied products are already over 30% more than last year and a few are even more than that! Last July, copper ended the month at $2.90 per pound and this June it is hovering at $4.32 per pound.
Availability challenges: If it has to be built, packaged, handled, or shipped it continues to increase in cost. HDPE pipe orders are 8 to 12 weeks out and some of our vendors have been put on “resin allocation”. Lasco has been inundated with record orders for their popular saddles so much that they are unable to ship for several weeks. PVC pipe has been on allocation for several months and is expected to remain that way through the end of the year. Drainage, wire, fittings, ductile iron - you name it - all are experiencing pipeline and shipping issues.
What you can do: Our team is working very hard to try and stay ahead of the needs. If you know you will want something, even if it is months from now, let us order it for you NOW!
