Rva.gov is Richmond's only website; DEC is rva.gov/911
As of July 1, rva.gov is the city of Richmond’s ONLY available municipal website. All visitors to Richmondgov.com will be redirected to RVA.gov. Email addresses are also changing to rva.gov, although richmondgov.com will still work as well.

Please make sure that all links to DEC content are rva.gov/911
DEC now hiring for the 38th Basic Dispatch Academy

Please encourage anyone you know who could be a good candidate to apply.
The job opening closes on July 4. The 38th BDA begins in October.

Richmond residents encouraged to complete online health profile
Richmond residents can now create an emergency health profile with health and contact information of their choosing. The profile will be associated with their telephone number, and DEC staff will have access to this information when a 911 call is placed from that phone. This is a service through RapidSOS.
This is the first of many changes that DEC will be making, in coordination with the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority and other stakeholders, to comply with the MARCUS alert.

June in review
DEC celebrates fathers
on social media

DEC's social media honored DEC staff who are fathers and the fathers of our staff on June 17.

Don't forget to follow, like and share our social media accounts and posts!

Other promotions end, #Ask911RVA begins
The #IamRichmond911 campaign recognized the hard work and community contributions of our staff. From February 2019 to March 2020, one employee per month was featured in original photos, posters, feature stories and social media posts. From June 2020 to June 2021, we have featured one employee per week in photos and social media posts.

Videos of staff asking 911 Quiz Questions were posted about once a week on our social media from May 5, 2020, to June 2, 2021. We gave out more than 250 prize packets!

Now, we are beginning #Ask911RVA to allow the public to ask questions of us. Staff will answer questions in videos posted to social media. Volunteer to answer a question!

Thanks to everyone who has helped with these promotions!

Oh, Baby!
Can you guess the identity of this baby?

Who among DEC employees is this? Send your guess

Everyone who correctly guesses the identity of this month's baby will be entered into the random drawing for a prize, and the "baby" will win one also!
June's
Oh, Baby!

Ulrica Smallwood knew
that June's
Oh, Baby!
was Dinita Jackson!
Ulrica was chosen
