The Board of Deacons has regretfully accepted the resignation of Pastor Valeria, effective Aug 31st. We will all miss her, and we wish her the best of luck and much happiness in her new endeavors.
As we move forward with our search for a new pastor, the Deacons have formed a search committee to hire an interim pastor. The committee consists of Jean Leif, Julia Woodward, and Lynn Garry We have submitted our church profile and interim applications to both the ABC and UCC denominations.
We will keep you posted on our progress.
In light of the fact that we will be using lay and guest preachers, we may not always have an ordained minister to preside over communion on Communion Sundays. The Deacons have voted that communion may be served by a member of Trinity Church provided that person has been trained in the ritual of offering communion to the congregation. This policy complies with the policies of the United Church of Christ and the American Baptist Churches.

Song of the Month: Spirit, Come Dispel Our Sadness (#253 in Chalice Hymnal)
|
|
Hello Trinity Community!
I hope the Summer Season is treating you well! The beautiful weather and flowering landscapes during this time of year will always be some of my favorite things about living in New England. Speaking of outside, hopefully, we will have that type of weather for our next parking lot service on July 24th! Our outdoor service in May was surprisingly hot and the past one in June was on the cool side. Lord-willing, we will have the “goldilocks” weather so more people can attend! July also has a 5th Sunday, so we are bringing back the Hymn Sing Service on July 31! Keep a look out for the hymn suggestion forms to submit your favorite tunes for the line-up or you can send it via email.
In addition to our weekly services, I’m pleased to announce that Trinity Church will be hosting a Community Music Camp this Summer for the week of August 14-19. This camp is free-of-charge to students of all ages, Kindergarten and up. Participants will meet daily during the production week in order to prepare a mini-musical performance for family and friends. This year’s show is called “The Big Fish: Jonah’s Whale of a Tale”. For more details on participation and registration, check out the Ad Flier later in this Tidings Newsletter or visit the Trinity Church Facebook page.
The camp will be structured in a Vacation Bible School fashion (drop-off/pick-up, daily 2-hour meetings, daily snacks for students, & evening event for family & friends). In order to make this event as successful as possible, we are asking for volunteers (age 16+) and for donations of supplies (food, drinks, props). Please consider helping us bring this idea to life! Contact me for me details.
I need to say a BIG thank you to all of the people who have volunteered to “share their gifts” with us during the next few months! We actually have enough to get us through August, but I want to encourage others to still step forward if God is calling you to do so! I just booked someone for September! If you have any feedback or suggestions to help improve the music life of our church and community, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Until We Meet Again,
Scott Arnold (He/Him)

THANKS TO LARRY HEMSTREET
|
|
As many of you may know, Larry Hemstreet is stepping back from being Trinity’s Property
Coordinator and the chair of the Finance and Property committee.
While Larry was the Property Coordinator, we’ve painted hallways and rooms on the first and
second floor, painted the main staircase, installed carpeting, improved our IT infrastructure,
improved our intranet capabilities, added a network line in the video booth so we can stream
worship services, installed new windows in the Fellowship Hall, and remodeled the kitchen.
That list doesn’t include half of the repairs and improvements we’ve been able to accomplish
while he’s been the Property Coordinator.
So, many thanks to Larry for all the work he’s done to keep the Trinity property “glued”
together. After reading this, please send him an email and thank him for all he’s done
But before you send that “thank you,” please read the “Help Wanted” below and sign up to
help the Property team continue to take care of our building. Because Larry is stepping back,
we need volunteers to fill all the jobs Larry covered.
