Themester Awards IUMAA Grant for First Thursdays Programs, Speaker Series

Visitors to IU Bloomington's First Thursdays festivals in September and October will be able to express their individual identities and contribute to an expression of the IU Bloomington community through quilting activities hosted by the museum and funded by a grant from Themester 2022: Identity and Identification, an initiative of the IU College of Arts and Sciences.

Museum Moving Forward with Student Assistance

As IUMAA moves in more artifacts, and more exhibits are being designed and built, students are playing a critical role in every aspect of the work.Caroline Goodwin and Anne Marie McCarthy, seen left carefully rolling up one of the museum's Gullah quilts for storage, are among the many interns, practica students, research fellows, and graduate assistants helping to prepare for the museum's opening in Fall 2023.
