Youth Astronomy Network
YouthAstroNet is inviting educators, youth service providers, and their middle-school-age learners to join our Youth Astronomy Network - a national, online community of youth, educators, and scientists that aims to help youth gain confidence and identity as someone who can do science through personal participation in authentic inquiry, using our MicroObservatory online robotic telescope network.

If interested in participating, complete a brief application. If you are selected, stipends are available for participating educators!
Power of Us
Millions of professionals and volunteers work with young people every day in the many settings where youth play, learn, and grow outside of the school day. Yet, we have little collective information about this essential workforce. We want to know more about those who are still in the youth fields and those who left, so that we can explore, define, and elevate this collective workforce and their work with youth.

Featuring premier speakers from across the United States, each STEMposium brings together the knowledge of on-the-ground experts and relevant topics that every classroom in America is facing right now.
Most importantly, STEMposiums are not product promotions—they’re offered to address issues affecting all students for a better tomorrow. Because together, we are stronger than we are apart.

RESOURCES OF THE MONTH
Resources for Helping Youth Cope after a Mass Shooting
In response to the Robb Elementary School (in Uvalde, Texas), supermarket (in Buffalo, New York), and other mass shootings, the Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs (IWGYP) has compiled a list of resources to help youth, families, educators, and community members cope with and talk about community trauma, as well as provide psychological first aid.
Students need to share how they feel, what they are thinking and feel safe in schools and afterschool programs. The time is now. We are all being impacted by these violent events but young people need to be taken care of. And we need to take care of their hearts, mental wellness and spirits. YOU can help here. These free kid-grit activities are modified from our curriculum style lessons. These activities are connective and provide safe spaces for students to open up and be seen.
