The alumna, and lifelong resource specialist and special education teacher has donated $200,000 to establish a new scholarship endowment in support of undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in special education.
Professor receives career recognition through APA award
Sandra Simpkins has been named the 2023 recipient of the Mavis Hetherington Award for Excellence in Applied Developmental Science by the American Psychological Association (APA) Division 7: Developmental Psychology.

Assistant Professor and DREAM Project Fellowship mentor Andres Bustamante was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Mentorship Award based on his exemplary support and contributions to the undocumented community.
The UCI School of Education's Master of Arts in Teaching + Credential program held its annual Colloquium for Classroom Inquiry for graduating candidates on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the UC Irvine campus. As part of their capstone projects, Multiple Subject and Single Subject candidates identified a teaching dilemma during their student teaching experience, designed and implemented an intervention, observed their results and presented their findings at the annual event.
