SKATE PARK CLOSED FOR MINOR REPAIRS

The skate park at Orange Park is currently closed due to minor alterations taking place to create a more open layout with additional features. This work will include removing the exterior fencing, expanding and replacing pavement, moving some current elements, adding new elements, and the addition of K-rails or jersey barriers to delineate a drive aisle.

Beginning on Monday, June 27th, repaving of the skate park is in progress, and estimated to take one week. After this paving work is completed, a sealant will be applied to create a smooth surface across the entire skate area. Once this work is complete, the skate park will be open for skating. The additional elements and K-rails will be phased in as they arrive. If you have any questions regarding this project, please reach out to the Parks Division at (650) 829-3833.

HELP THE ENVIRONMENT – STARTING FROM HOME IN SSF

SB 1383 – ORGANICS RECYCLING

Effective as of January 1, 2022, Californians are required by SB 1383 to apply for organics recycling service. When organic waste (such as food scraps, food-soiled paper, and yard trimmings) reach our landfills, it emits harmful greenhouse gases, such as methane. These gases contribute toward the negative impacts of climate change such as rising sea levels, reduced snowpack, wildfires, drought, and heat waves in California. Please help the fight against climate change by disposing your organic waste into your green organics bin. If you currently don’t have organics recycling service, please contact SSF Scavenger at (650) 589-4020. For additional information and resources regarding SB 1383 and other California recycling laws, please visit www.ssf.net/recycling.

APPLY FOR YOUR FREE KITCHEN COMPOST PAIL TODAY!

Make the process of separating household organic waste from your trash easier by applying for your FREE kitchen compost pail. It is quick and easy! All you need to do is visit www.ssf.net/recycling and go to Resident Resources, or contact Public Works by phone at (650) 877-8550 or email at [email protected].
