Photos will be exhibited at the Printer's Row Art Fest. This year's theme is "Seasons of South Loop."

Entry Fee: 
$5 members 
$10 non-members 
$15 professionals 
+ $10 if you want us to print/ frame for you 

1st Prize $150
Viewer's Choice: Prize package 
Honorable mention (3): 1 year household memberhsip to South Loop Neighbors ($55 value)

Juding criteria will include how well the submission fits within the theme of "Seasons of South Loop."

Entry rules: 
  • Contest is open to all South Loop residents.
  • Up to 5 entries per person.
  • Photo must be taken in the South Loop within the last three years.
  • Entry must be at least 8 by 10 inches, framed in black and ready to hang with a wire across the back.
  • Exhibition information must be attached to back of framed photograph if submitting framed photo.
  • All photographers are responsible for obtaining any necessary model releases. A release may not be necessary for photographs taken in public.
  • Due to space constraints, only the top 50 entries will be exhibited for the opening.

All photographs to be printed/ framed by South Loop Neighbors must be submitted by Friday August 5, 2022. Photographs framed by the participant must be dropped of by 8 am August 13, 2022 at an agreed upon location.

Cannabis Dispensary Public Meeting
The 4th Ward Service Office and the South Loop Advisory Council will be hosting a public meeting on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 5 PM to discuss a potential cannabis dispensary at 1147 South Wabash. The meeting is an opportunity to hear directly from Family Roots, LLC, a dispensary licensee, regarding their efforts to open a dispensary in the community. Opposition to demolition of four GSA owned buildings on S. State St.

The South Loop Neighbors has joined with the Chicago Loop Alliance, Chicago Central Area Committee and the Loop Neighbors in strongly opposing the demolition of the four buildings owned by the U.S. General Service Administration on S.   • Parking restrictions are in place for the South Loop from Roosevelt Road to Cermak Rd. from Lake Shore Drive to Clark St. during all Chicago Bears football games and many other Soldier Field events. Wintrust Arena events have been removed from the parking restrictions. Vehicles parked in the South Loop without a valid South Loop Event Parking Pass, South Loop Event Guest Pass or Residential Permit Parking pass (for Residential Permit Parking Streets ONLY) are subject to ticketing or towing.
