The Big Community Comeback In June the Idaho State Summer Theatre program was resurrected with six performances of Urinetown: The Musical by Greg Kotis at the Stephens Performing Arts Center Bistline Theatre. The summer production was an opportunity for members of the community, Idaho State University faculty and students, and visiting professionals to work together. Growth in Graduate Degrees

The College of Arts and Letters has experienced an 11% overall increase in graduate graduation over the last three years, which according to Dr. Adam Bradford, Dean of the Graduate School, is dynamite growth.   “ISU’s College of Arts and Letters continues to attract significant numbers of graduate students because it offers attractive programs shepherded by dedicated faculty members,” Bradford says. “Many College of Arts and Letters programs have worked hard to diversify access by making more programs available in-person and online.” Many programs are available completely online, which makes them available to students from across Idaho, as well as national and international students.

“We’re seeing tremendous growth and people are recognizing the added value of graduate programs that lead toward a positive career trajectory,” dean of the college, Dr. Kandi Turley-Ames says.  “The college’s dedication to meeting student needs and building superior programs is unquestionably a winning combination,” Bradford says, “as their impressive growth attests.”

2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament

Last year’s College of Arts and Letters cornhole event at Bengal Welcome Week was such a success that we're bringing it back! Over 48 teams made up of faculty, staff, and students competed last year. We expect another great turnout this year. Teams can sign up ahead of time or one hour prior to the event, which will be held on the Quad. A special thank you to Lookout Credit Union, who is co-hosting the event, and The Popcorn Shop, who will again sponsor prizes for tournament winners. If you don’t wish to compete, come watch and cheer on your favorite team! There will also be other lawn games available to play.
