It was a perfect summer day to celebrate the Boston Square community on Saturday, July 9. Neighbors, friends and family came out for the day-long event that showcased all the incredible things happening in the area.

Live music, local food and drinks, shopping with local vendors, INCREDIBLE face painting, dunk tank, bouncy house, water activities and more. To sum it up, it was Boston Square at its best. Thanks to attendees, vendors and the community partners that made it happen - Oakdale Neighbors, Boston Square Neighborhood Association (BSNA), The City of Grand Rapids, and AGR.

The Queen of Evergreen

Argie Holliman has lived in the neighborhood for more than 40 years.

Neighbors know her for the time she has spent blazing new trails in the community, following in the footsteps of her late mother who was also a long-time neighbor and advocate in Boston Square.

We were honored to celebrate her birthday and her fantastic group of community volunteers last month by joining her neighbors, friends and family for her annual backyard birthday feast!

She is a light to all who know her. Cheers to another trip around the sun, Argie!
