Shut Up and Write Workshop: Thursdays from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Join us for an hour (or two) of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 5:30 PM on Thursday evenings.

SCHEDULE
5:30 PM: Getting settled
5:45 PM: Timer starts: write for 1 hour
6:45 PM: Five minute stretch break! You can also leave for the day if you need to (sometimes an hour is exactly the right amount and sometimes you need more!) You can also keep writing if you'd like and ignore the break.
7:30 PM: The End: chat, take off, or keep writing

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 7:30. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

BEING LATE OR LEAVING EARLY IS OKAY, just show up and get settled and start writing. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. If you need to leave early, you can leave any time you need to.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to listen to music for inspiration, help with focus, or any other reason that suits you. If you write on a laptop, we recommend bringing a laptop charger or fully charging your laptop beforehand.
The New Age Wisdom Book Club meets once a month in the Frances E. Kegley Conference Room to discuss a spiritual-themed book. This month's topic will be Prayer - Why Do People Pray? What is prayer? Do we pray as gratitude when everything is going well in our lives? Or is it fear that motivates us to pray?

Adult Book Clubs at the Bristol Public Library
We've got a number of Book Clubs for you to choose from!

Every Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM we have Nevermore - our freeform book club. Read what you want and discuss it with our group - we always have a wide variety of books brought to the table. Social chatting goes from 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM, and the reviews start at 11:00 AM and run until 12:00 noon. We meet in the Frances E. Kegley Conference room on the upper floor of the library, and the meeting is a hybrid - you can join either in person or Zoom here. Email [email protected] for more information.

Every third Tuesday of the month we host the Bristol Public Library Book Club.  This month we will be discussing The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore in person in the Frances E. Kegley Conference Room at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, July 18. Email [email protected] for more information.

Radio Bristol Book Club is a joint venture between the Bristol Public Library and The Birthplace of Country Music Museum. On Thursday, July 27 we will be discussing Run, Rose, Run by Dolly Parton and James Patterson. Tune in to 100.1 FM WBCM-LP Radio Bristol at 12:00 noon or listen online here.
