OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROGRAMS AND YOUTH
The 2023 National Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge is now open!
Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge is a simple set of activities that helps kids learn creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and presentation skills. K-12 students are invited to create and submit video elevator pitches by July 15, 2023.

23-24 STEM Leaders Academy Applications Open Now!
Interested in making the shift to STEM, but not sure how? School teams that participate in the academy learn about high-quality STEM schools, develop their own STEM goals, and create a long-term plan for making the shift. $20,000 is available per school to implement the plan!

Lights on Afterschool
Celebrate the 24th Annual Lights On Afterschool October 26, 2023!

Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families, and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement and generates
media coverage across the country each year.

Poster Contest
The Lights On Afterschool poster contest is officially open, and this year we’re looking for any artwork that represents the spirit of afterschool programs. The winning artist will be featured on our website, blog, and a national press release, and their afterschool program will be credited on the poster in addition to receiving the grand prize of $500!

All poster entries are due Monday, July 10, 2023.

Join NSLA to Celebrate 30 Years of Impact at the Summer Learning Summit! We have so much in store for Summer Learning Summit, to learn more about our 2023 plans, download our Summit Overview including all attendee and exhibitor information, and our invitation to the 30th Anniversary Celebration Dinner at the National Museum of African American History and Culture!

Million Girls Moonshot
The Million Girls Moonshot Toolkit is a collection of resources and tools for all 50 Mott Afterschool States Networks, their partners, and programs, to utilize for the Million Girls Moonshot Initiative. All transformative practice resources have been vetted using a culturally responsive and equity lens to foster inclusive STEM learning spaces for all youth, particularly girls. 
Mentorship Has Begun!
NV Flight Crew Update: Flight Crew Members have been paired with some amazing STEM Mentors and have completed their first one-on-one meetings! Flight Crew Members had the opportunity to meet with their mentors to get to know one another and talk about all things STEM. One Flight Crew member shadowed on an overnight STEM retreat while others were able to join their mentors on a campus tour. We are so excited to see what future meetings lie ahead. Thank you, Emily, Marylu, Nicole, Marylesa, and Shania for taking our Flight Crew under your wing!
Recruiting Volunteers & Mentors - VolunteerMatch Partnership 
VolunteerMatch is one of the biggest volunteer platforms, linking STEM professionals to programs and networks for volunteer and mentoring opportunities. With over 1.3 million visitors per month, VolunteerMatch is now FREE to networks and nonprofit program partners as part of the Moonshot.
