PSU Readiness Institute students explore

manufacturing careers at NCC

High school students participating in The Readiness Institute at Penn State visited NCC the week of July 17 for a tour and to hear about the organization’s programs and career opportunities in the machining industry.

Students also got to try out some of the tools and equipment to spark their interest in these manufacturing and technical skills.

Summer cohort hones CNC skills

NCC’s current trainee cohort has been engaging in a comprehensive CNC simulator practice and hands-on machine training module. This program is designed to provide trainees with practical learning experience that combines the benefits of virtual simulation with real-life machine operation.

By utilizing a state-of-the-art CNC simulator, trainees can develop their skills and fine-tune their techniques in a safe and controlled environment. Additionally, the hands-on machine training will allow them to apply their knowledge and gain valuable experience using an actual CNC machine. “With this hybrid approach, NCC aims to equip trainees with the necessary skills and confidence to excel in the area of CNC machining,” said John Alexander, program instructor.
