Employee Updates

The Erie Insurance Project was undertaken as a partnership between AM Higley, OSHA, and Precision which allowed for increased oversite. Above you will see photos of the removal of four (4) columns that were from the 1870's that had to be done with great care as they want to re-use them on the project. Shout out to Rob and his crew for every phase of the project - on time, successfully, and safely! Way to go Rob!

Precision shout out to Ryan Brown for his work at the Gallagher High School project. Ryan has performed a difficult job with the use of fall protection and cabling safely, proficiently, and maintained the Precision way! Keep up the awesome work Ryan!

Heads up!

Independence Excavating will be starting work soon at the Broglio's property on Old Brecksville.  (empty property between Precision and Harry's Steakhouse)

There will be some initial prep to relocate equipment, mowing/grubbing the site, installing geotechnical instrumentation & gaining access to a portion of ODOT’s property. The goal is for mass earthwork to start on 7/24.

The plan for this year is to level out the site for a future building pad, allowing for an extended planned settlement to occur.

Please watch for extra construction vehicles in the area! Thank you!

St. Thomas Hospital

Project Manager: Jim Bower

This has been an exciting race so far with Grant Morgan ensuring that the Team Precision horse stays the course. After a brief hiatus we are now in full containment of all four boilers and have begun the boiler abatement. We still have some ancillary items to abate around the property and once the boilers are finished, we will have to abate the exterior windows of the plant. The race isn’t over yet but so far it’s Precision in the lead. We are working for Spirtas Wrecking.

Erie Insurance

Project Manager: Dave Krumlauf

Crews have returned to the Erie Insurance Doorbell Project in Erie, PA. This project originally got underway back in August 2022, and we have returned to complete our scope of work on this Phased project. Previously we worked on selective demolition of interior finishes and removal of exterior plaster soffits on four floors of the building. AM Higley is the construction manager.

Wickliffe High School

Project Manager: Chris Zielinski

Answering the call for our friends at Hammond Construction, we have begun work on our next school project with them, this time at Wickliffe High School. The work consists of cleaning out all ACM so that the structure can be removed by JimBob’s Demolition company. We started last month onsite with a small team to begin enabling work for a large kickoff June 5th of the main phase of work. A large portion of work in the school consists of flooring and ceiling abatement. There is also abatement of piping and chalkboard systems too prior to the structure coming down. This project is being run in the field by Josh Ball. He and his crew are ahead of schedule and are really crushing the abatement portion of the project to prepare for demolition. We are expecting to be onsite through August.

Gallagher School, Phase III

Project Manager: Tom FitzGerald

We’reeeeee backkkkk! We have been brought back onsite and awarded the final phase of the Joseph Gallagher School project with our friends over at Greenspace Construction Services! This go around, we are turning our focus to the exterior of the building. We will be removing almost 80% of all the exterior brick & cmu walls (46k sf), the remaining interior walls (7k sf), and removing all rooftop units and interior remaining ductwork. In addition to that work, we are also tasked with removing any non-ACM fireproofing from the interior (90k Sf), as well as remaining flooring. On the exterior site, Precision will be providing crane roads, playground demo, fencing demo, SWPPP protection, and lawn maintenance. We currently have Jimmy Csincsar and Ryan Brown running the work with a crew of 15+, we anticipate completing our work in Mid-August. Keep up the great work, stay safe, and let’s finish out this job strong!

Nimisila Elementary School

Project Manager: Tom FitzGerald

This job is being run by Josh Ball and his crew of 9+. Our scope consisted of the abatement of 45,000 SF of floor tile & mastic, 45,000 SF of ceiling plaster throughout, removal of 2,000 LF of pipe insulation, and the removal of various window systems. We will be concluding our portion next week ahead of schedule and handing it back over for demolition. Thanks for the great work team!

First Tee

Project Manager: Dave Krumlauf

We were working for Turner Construction at First Tee in Newburgh Heights beginning in May and have since commenced on the project. We performed both asbestos abatement and selective demo while we gut the classroom of an old building. We completed the project in the anticipated time frame.

Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse

Project Manager: Chris Wiseman

Precision was hired by Whiting Turner to perform interior work at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Our scope included renovations of the visiting NBA locker room, visiting hockey locker room, and six Star dressing rooms with a very demanding and tight schedule due to games and concerts. Part of the scope of work included concrete saw cutting and removal of concrete slabs. To eliminate any fumes within the work space, Precision utilized its  fully electric slab saws and battery powered mini excavator to cut and pick the floor slabs. Overall, the services we performed at the Fieldhouse were the following:

·         Sawcut and remove concrete

·        Excavate and backfill

·        Prep and pour concrete as per owners specifications.

·        Selective demolition of partitions, floorings, and ceilings

·        Selective demolition of re-enforced block wall

·        Installation of ICRA walls to protect areas outside of the construction zone

Hillcrest Hospital

Project Manager: Tom FitzGerald

Is it an emergency!? Nooooo, it’s just our friends at Turner Construction calling in “The Doctors of Demo” to come help them out at the new Cancer Center expansion project at Hillcrest Hospital! We are continuing work on the multifaceted project, this time in the form of sawcutting and concrete surface prep! We have been working on cutting in the new entrance for the ground floor tie-in area. This included sawing a 20’L x 9’H opening through 16” concrete footer walls as well as the removal of the materials too. In addition to this work going on, Turner also asked us to help them out with a concrete flatness issue they had for a 10,000 SF area requiring dialing in before a topping could be installed. For this work, Nick Pich stepped in and assisted with the formation of the remedial plan and executed the work so that Turner could hand it over to the next trade with no issue. We will be wrapping up work soon and waiting until fall to return for the final phase of work creating a 2nd floor opening. Thanks to all of our “doctors” involved with this one!

Magnificat High School

Project Manager: Dave Krumlauf

Project Manager: Dave Krumlauf

We will complete work this week at Orange High School in Pepper Pike that crews began in June. This was Phase 1 of 2. Phase 1 is the first-floor remodel of the school this year, and phase 2 is the second floor and office area next year. Kevin Lemons and his crew did a great job! AM Higley was the construction manager.

KSU CAED Twin Center

Project Manager: Tom FitzGerald

This job is being run by Ian Bednarski and his crew of demo and asbestos laborers. We were brought in by Stitle Construction because of our prior relationship and past work we have completed with them on campus. Our scope of work consisted of the gutting of a 10,000 SF former kitchen area located on the 2nd floor of the twin center between Beall and McDowell Halls. Some of the larger scope items involved the removal of large pizza ovens, CMU walls throughout as well as the abatement of a 7,000 SF plaster ceiling. We are slated to be wrapping up work this week and moving across campus to Bowman Hall. Thanks for the great work Ian and team!

KSU Bowman Hall

Project Manager: Tom FitzGerald

Ian and his crew will be going over to knock out this small office renovation for our friends at Stitle this week. We are removing interior walls, ceilings and floors, and ultimately abating the floor mastic. We should be wrapping this up within the week! Thanks to Ian and his team for taking on 2 jobs at once down on campus!
