Celebrating Our Amazing Team of Advocates
Building Camaraderie and Memories at Our All Staff Picnic
In the era of remote work and virtual meetings, it's easy to overlook the significance of face-to-face interactions. While Zoom has been an efficient tool for gathering all of our Advocates under one "roof," there's something truly special about the opportunity to gather in-person.
The All Staff picnic provided just that! Our All Staff picnic served as a powerful reminder of the importance of in-person connections and the bonds that are fostered when we come together as a team.
Wishing you a fun and safe summer!

Fostering Inclusive Spaces
A Heartfelt Thanks to the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) and Just Born for their Invaluable Support!
Thanks to their separate grants, in addition to allowing for professional development opportunities for our staff, we have been able to obtain culturally specific foods, personal care and hygiene products, as well as a diverse range of children's books and toys suitable for all ages, gender identities, and abilities.
Our dedicated Client Advocates played a crucial role in curating this thoughtful selection by actively listening to the needs of our current and former clients. As a result, our Safe House is now fully stocked with items that honor and embrace the wide spectrum of ages, gender identities, neurodiversity, and racial backgrounds represented by our clients.
These efforts have created an environment that fosters respect and ensures all survivors feel welcomed, valued, and supported. Thank you, PCADV and Just Born, for making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve!

Making a Difference in Their Own Extraordinary Way
The voices and real-life experiences of survivors are absolutely invaluable to our mission of eliminating domestic and intimate partner abuse. Through our Mentors Program, we engage survivors in the Lehigh Valley to share their story and in the process help them to continue to heal and thrive.
Our Mentors have the opportunity to unleash their story in numerous creative ways, including crafting artwork that embodies their unique journey, captivating audiences at educational events with their powerful narratives, taking center stage during our empowering group sessions and sharing their strength with others who are on a similar path, and representing Turning Point at tabling events and community gatherings.
Our program recognizes that each survivor's story is distinct. That is why we celebrate their unique strengths, providing them with a platform to make a difference in their own extraordinary way.

Donor Spotlight: Guardian Life
Guardian Life's Generosity Shines Bright
A heartfelt thank you to Guardian Life for being an amazing ally and donating over 15 boxes of drawstring bags filled with blankets, games, and coloring books for the kiddos at our Safe House.
Our Director of Advancement, Leah Triber, spoke briefly about Turning Point and our services at the end of Guardian Life's all-day conference last month. At the end of the presentation, employees personally packed each drawstring bag with goodies for the kids at Safe House.
We are immensely grateful for their ongoing support and know these bags will bring so much joy and fun to the brave children staying with us!

Celebrating Freedom, Equality, and Allyship at the West Ward Market in Easton
A More Inclusive Future For All
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is an important day in American history that celebrates freedom and equality.
This Juneteenth, we had the privilege to table at the West Ward Market in Easton where they celebrated and brought awareness to this important national holiday.
While Juneteenth is a time of celebration, it also reminds us that freedom and equality have not always been available to everyone. As an ally, we understand that different forms of abuse, like domestic and intimate partner abuse, can be linked to racial inequality, and we support efforts to create a fair and safe society for all.
As part of our commitment to supporting survivors, we encourage everyone to learn about Juneteenth. By gaining knowledge, we can work towards a more equal and inclusive future for all!

15 Years of Incredible Service
Last month, we bid farewell to our beloved colleague, Theresa, who retired after serving as a Turning Point Advocate for over 15 incredible years! Her dedication to helping others has been truly inspiring and has left an indelible mark on our team and the community we serve.
"I have been proud to be a member of this organization. Working with people that live their life doing service and helping people every day has been so rewarding!"
While we miss Theresa, we wish her nothing but the best on her next chapter.
