Happy 92nd birthday to Bob Hoover!

Hoover Krepelka, LLP is honored and delighted to announce the appointment of Caycie Favier as Senior Associate. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of La Verne College of Law in May 2011, winning a CALI Award in Advanced Evidence Practicum. She was a Trial Team Competitor in multiple competitions during law school.  She also earned a Master of Arts in Communication and Culture with an emphasis in Human Rights from Northern Arizona University, and she also attended the Institute of Human Rights for a Study Abroad program in Strasbourg, France.

We are thrilled to welcome Thea “Tanya” Decendario to our team as a Legal Administrative Assistant! Tanya brings valuable experience from her time at Bay Area JusticeCorps as a Hayward Hall of Justice Fellow, where she assisted self-represented clients with family law forms. When not working, Tanya enjoys walking her two adorable dogs, Loki and Cookie. She also dedicates her time to volunteer with Kasama Ng Kalayaan, supporting FilipinX community members facing deportation through pardon letter writing and workshops. We are excited to have Tanya’s experience and fluency in Tagalog and llonggo with us.

Each summer, HK creates opportunities for high school and college students to intern at the firm to learn about family law. This month, we welcomed Kate Koojoolian and Erika Osgood as summer interns!

Kate Koojoolian is preparing for her senior year at St. Francis High School, where she also plays on the school’s water polo team. During the summer, Kate lifeguards and coaches swimming lessons at Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club. She is interested in studying psychology and is still undecided between attending medical or law school.

Erika Osgood returned for her second year of internship at HK. Erika will be entering her senior year at Valley Christian High School, where currently holds a 4.29 GPA. She is interested in visual arts, music, history and travel. Erika is leaning towards focusing her undergraduate studies in history or psychology, and she is also interested in studying law. In her spare time, Erika plays bass guitar and volunteers with Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence.

Kate and Erika worked alongside us and helped our attorneys, legal support and marketing groups with various tasks. They had a chance to physically appear in court to see if it’s really like the tv shows and movies (it’s not). Erika and Kate helped with scanning and filing projects, attended a marketing workshop, gave office tours to guests, and offered us advice about social media.

It has been an honor for us to mentor these two future superstar professionals!

Congrats to Eanna Mejia, Law Clerk, on completing her third marathon! This year, Eanna achieved a personal best time as she crossed the finish line of the San Francisco Marathon. We applaud Eanna’s commitment and sportsmanship. She reported that the favorable weather conditions and the increase of supporters and volunteers this year helped make this experience her most positive race yet.
