A Message from Board President Tom Manion

Greetings PSM Membership,

PSM hosted the Annual Meeting on May 17, 2023. There were approximately 30 attendees participating in the webinar. The event served as a “re-launch” of the PSM, with the purpose of reengaging current members and pushing for new membership. The Annual Meeting was presented and facilitated by members of the PSM Board. The meeting resulted in additional interest in PSM, current members signing onto the website as well as interest in becoming a Board Member. Membership has been increased to 597 members.

PSM was able to award scholarships to 22 PSM members from across the state representing a wide range of injury and violence prevention disciplines to attend various trainings and conferences. Scholarships covered expenses such as registration fees and travel expenses where applicable. Many of the scholarship recipients were not PSM members prior to applying for their scholarship, and several have expressed interest in participating on the Board as well. This gives the PSM Board proof of concept that offering incentives like these scholarships will boost our membership numbers as well as member engagement.

Stay Safe,

-Tom
