Radio coverage testing ongoing

Throughout this summer and summer 2024, DECPR staff are participating in radio coverage testing. The testing is meant to ensure that the new radio system has coverage at the level contractually obligated by Motorola. Staff are traveling throughout the city and calling in with scripted messages to those testing in the Training Center. In addition to DECPR staff, others participating include VCU, Capitol Police, RPD, DPU, DPW, RAA, RSO, RACC and temporary staffers.

Honoring DECPR fathers

The DECPR Pride Committee presented candy bags and customized poker chips to each DECPR employee who is a father, and photos of employees with their children or fathers were featured on DECPR social media.

Thanks to DECPR staff who worked at the Multicultural Festival, Community Walk and RPD Pop-Up Community Event in June! Your help is needed to inform the public about 911 and emergency preparedness at more upcoming summer community events.
