Happy 34th Birthday ADA!

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed in 1990. The ADA is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. This landmark legislation created protections in several areas of everyday life, including employment, education, housing, and transportation. Many of the services and opportunities available to brain injury survivors would not be possible without this legislation. Whether from a concussion, other type of TBI, stroke, or brain tumor, if you are a person who meets the federal definition of “person with a disability,” then the ADA has protections for you!

Good Reads

Welcome To Our New "Good Reads" Feature!

Looking for a good read? We are delighted to announce this new feature to our newsletter. We will periodically be featuring a book specifically focused on brain injury that we believe you will find insightful, engaging, and/or inspiring.  We also invite you to let us know if you have come across any books about brain injury that you think others might enjoy and want to share with others. Whether you're looking to enhance your understanding, find hope and motivation, or explore new therapeutic approaches, our "Good Reads" picks are here to support and enrich your journey.

This month, we are featuring Who Will Butter My Toast? Sandy Tovray Greenberg, the mom of a brain injury survivor, wrote this book aimed at helping caregivers / family members best advocate for their loved one. “Who Will Butter My Toast?” is a personal and compelling book that sheds light on the often-overlooked struggles of caring for and loving someone with a brain injury. It’s a testament to the power of perseverance and love in the face of adversity. Check it out!
