A Message of Thanks From Our Volunteer Coordinator

I want to thank everyone who volunteered at the 81st General Convention this past month. We had 151 volunteers from 21 congregations within the diocese who gave over 1400 hours of their time. A special thank you to all of the dedicated folks who served as supervisors working shifts all week long and filling in wherever they were needed. Your presence blessed and enriched the lives of all you encountered. I’ve received so many compliments about how wonderfully joyful and generous the volunteers were and I know I couldn’t have done it without you. I am grateful for your time, effort, and commitment. I hope you found your experience joy-filled. I welcome all feedback so I can pass down wisdom and insight to Clyde Kunz, Volunteer Coordinator for the 82nd General Convention in Phoenix. Diocesan Pilgrimage to Montgomery/Selma

September 25th-28th 

Details and Registration Now Available 

The Racial Healing Commission is hosting a pilgrimage for September 25-28, 2024. Members from throughout the Diocese of Kentucky will meet in Montgomery, AL and surrounding region, for a two day journey as we visit the 3 Legacy sites created by the Equal Justice Initiative: The Legacy Museum, The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and the newly opened - The Freedom Monument Sculpture Park. A local guide and historian will lead us as we visit Hayneville (Jonathan Myrick Daniels Memorial) and Selma (Edmund Pettus Bridge). We will gather together at St. John's Episcopal Church for discussion and prayer. 

Participant Cost: $150 per individual (Covers shared meals, entrance fees, chartered bus, and tour guide for September 27th). Registration is limited to 45 participants. Participants book their own hotel rooms.

Scholarships Available for College Students

The Kohler Family Scholarship Committee meets bi-annually to review applications for students requesting financial assistance to attend college, university or vocational programs. Applicants must be baptized and be a member of a church in the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky. The applicant must show financial need, academic promise, be baptized, and be willing to provide additional supporting information as stipulated on the Application. Applications are accepted up to June 15th for fall semesters, and up to November 1st for spring semesters. For more information, please see the website here.

A Letter from the Racial Healing Commission

The Racial Healing Commission has been working to bring healing and foster beloved community in our diocese. In this ministry the Commission have provided for our diocese the Dismantling Racism Training events to bring awareness and learning as to how we can build beloved community. Congregational leaders, please read the attached letter and learn more about ways you can participate in and raise awareness concerning our leadership's need to take these trainings. Racial Healing Commission Seeking Technical Hosts



The Racial Healing Commission is recruiting persons who can assist with the technology for virtual meetings. Training for these positions will be provided. A small stipend will be offered. The Environmental Ministry Network of Province IV of the Episcopal Church exists to support education, organization, collaboration and promotion around the issues of eco-justice, eco-stewardship and eco-spirituality. The ministry contributes to this work in three key ways: 1) making connections between people, 2) enhancing communications and awareness of environmental ministry in the province, and 3) providing resources.
