Message from Principal, Mrs. Kaylee Simcik

Dear John Paul II Center Community,

Summer is finally upon us! Even though the halls are a little quieter, we are still buzzing with activities. We’re thrilled to have nearly twice as many students attend this year’s Extended School Year (ESY) program, thanks to funds many of you helped us raise at our Legacy Gala. Check our Facebook page to see our students as they learn about farm animals, how to make the perfect s’more and more!

Our Adult Program continues with its year-round activities including going to the movies, playing miniature golf and participating in music and art therapies. Even though it is summer, our adult participants continue to volunteer at Meals on Wheels, Berks Nature and ROG. They are busy!

Our greatest need right now is to fill vacant staff positions to continue providing high-quality, excellent programs for our students and adults. At the bottom of the e-blast are the opportunities we have open. The link will take you to our employment page on our website with descriptions. Extended School Year Picnic Time!

Last week, our ESY students ventured out for a picnic to go with the weekly theme. They enjoyed a picnic lunch on the beautiful Reading Public Museum grounds and got to experience a real picnic after learning about them this week! JPII ESY is so much fun! 

EITC Donations = Scholarships

Did you know that corporate EITC donations made by businesses and individuals have a huge impact for JPII students? Their generous tax credit contributions help provide essential scholarships to students in need, giving them the access to our specialized education programming. You can be a part of supporting schools in your community - simply by paying your taxes.

2024 Gala Fund A Need Extended School Year:

Thanks to your support at our Legacy Gala, 16 students can attend this summer programming for the first time. A portion of the money raised through our Legacy Gala’s Fund A Need covers their tuition fees and transportation.

Thank you for providing them not only with the opportunity to continue learning over the summer, but also for creating those summer camp memories that will last a lifetime. 

Joyful Noise:

Thank you to everyone who gave to the Diocese of Allentown's Joyful Noise campaign. We raised $750 thanks to your donations!

Donation Options:

Set up a one-time donation to help the students and adults at JPII.

Help on a monthly basis by setting up a recurring donation.

A gift to JPII’s endowment becomes a forever gift for future generations of students and adults.

Matching Gifts

You may be able to double your gift to JPII through your employer’s corporate matching gift program. If your company offers this benefit, you may be able to maximize personal contributions and increase the impact of your gift.

John Paul II Center is able to care for and teach our incredible students and adults because of the support we receive from our community. In an effort to make giving as secure and convenient as possible, we now provide a number of ways to help fund JPII’s mission.
