Cloverbuds/Sunshine Makers
Cloverbud meetings are held in both Linn & Miami County locations. Both meeting will cover the same topics, so there is no need to attend both, you may attend a meeting in either county.

Final Entomology Project Meeting Before Fairs
Final Entomology Project meeting before most County/District Fairs begin will be on Saturday, July 13th at the Allen County Extension Office.
It will be from 1 to 3 p.m.
WE will work on what you need to get ready for the Fair. You should have all insects you plan to put in your display box pinned by now. Or pictures taken.

Instructions for Entering Booths or Banners
If you are entering a Booth and/or a Banner one of your club leaders will need to enter the booth and/or banner in the FairEntry System. To do this, after you sign in using your 4HOnline account, please add an exhibitor that is your club name. Then you will find the Booth and Banners department to enter the exhibit.
4-H Foundation and Project Clubs can enter the same way.
NOTE: We will be having a Public Fashion Revue on Monday, July 22 at 7:00pm in Fair building #4

Pullorum-Typhoid Testing
The annual Pullorum-Typhoid testing requirements for the state of Kansas have been relaxed.
We are on a 5 year rotation & our next required Pullorum-Typhoid Testing for the MdC District is set for 2026
The Miami County Fair and Linn County Fair will not require the testing for poultry showing in 4-H & Open class poultry shows in 2024.

Kansas State Fair - September 6-15, 2024
State Fair Pre-Entries are due August 14
Any 4-H member who is 9-18 years old by January 1, 2024 can exhibit their purple ribbon-winning exhibit at the 2024 Kansas State Fair. Please check the Kansas State Fair Book for entry limits and rules/guidelines.
You must pre-enter those items at the Miami County Fair in the Fair Office or enter them by the Paola office after the fair is over.
Linn County pre-entry sign-up is available at the Linn County Fair on Thursday, August 8th from 1-3pm in the 4-H Building or at the Mound City office after the fair is over.
This is not livestock & horse entries but does include Clothing & Textiles, Crops, Energy Management, Entomology, Fiber Arts, Foods & Nutrition, Foods Preservation, Forestry, Geology & Lapidary, Home Environment, Horticulture, Photography, Communications (Demonstrations/Illustrated Talk, Project Talk, Poetry & Prose), Shooting Sports Educational Displays, STEM (Ag Mechanics, Architectural Block Construction, Astronomy, Computers, Robotics, Rocketry, Unmanned Aerial System, and Educational Exhibits), Wildlife, Woodworking, Rabbit, and Poultry Exhibits
Fashion Revue and Visual Arts are limited and those qualifying exhibits are selected by the judges at Fair.

Kansas 4-H Dog Conference Logo Design Contest
“Pupkin Spice” is the theme of the 2024 Kansas 4-H Dog Conference scheduled for October 19 & 20 at Rock Springs. Think falling leaves and cool temperatures as you design a logo to be used for this year’s conference.
All Kansas 4-H dog project members are invited to participate in the logo design contest by emailing
a drawing of your idea in JPEG format to Jill Martinson at martinso@ksu.edu by July 10, 2024.
The winning design will be used by our graphic designers as a basis for the logo to be used on
t-shirts, hoodies, and promotional materials. The winning designer will be awarded their choice of
a t-shirt or hoodie featuring their “Pupkin Spice” design.
