For the first time, we are offering an incredible sponsorship for two events. This ONE sponsorship covers BOTH The 7th Annual RI Calamari Festival and Cook-Off on September 21 and The 4th Annual Holiday Street Faire on December 7, 2024.

Shaidzon's Lil' Folk Fest!
We are thrilled to once again host Shaidzon's Lil' Folk Fest at Shaidzon Beer Garden located at 141 Fairgrounds Rd. , West Kingston!
When: Friday July 26th, Saturday July 27th & Sunday July 28th.
Join us for this fun beer and music filled three-day event with awesome food from Hank's Down South! Amazing local bands and a great setting at the Shaidzon Beer Garden.

The Galilee Mission is having a 40th Anniversary Gala this fall!
When: November 7th, 2024 | 6-9pm
Where: The Narragansett Towers
Take part in a night to celebrate 40 years of supporting those in our community who struggle with substance use. The "theme" for the night is "A Journey Worth Celebrating" and will surely be a night of history, fun and good food!

Emergency Wildlife Support from Local Heroes
We are very lucky to have the organization, The Wildlife Clinic of RI, right here in Saunderstown. Their incredible team has been providing medical and rehabilitative care for all species of wildlife in the state of Rhode Island since 1993.
Licensed by both the state and federal government, they help over 6,000 wild patients each year from all corners of the state while also raising orphaned or injured wild babies and assisting injured adults with the goal of releasing them back into the environment.

If you have found what you think is an injured or orphaned wild animal in Rhode Island, please call 401-294-6363 before taking action so they can assess the situation with you in real time. Not all circumstances require human intervention.

Art at the River
Artists of all ages and skill levels are welcome to create art at Middlebridge Preserve, on the bank of Narrow River on Saturday, August 10th from 9-11am!
“Plein air” (open air) painters will demonstrate their techniques. Photographers are welcome to capture the sights with camera or phone.
Bring your own easel or sketch pad or use watercolors provided by NRPA. Sketch your version of an expansive landscape view or crouch down and capture a still life view of oysters on the fringe of the salt marsh.
NRPA will guide activities such as seaweed art and fish prints.
Bring a plain tee-shirt or pillowcase if you’d like to make a fish print onto it!

South County Museum Summer Events and Happenings!
South County Museum has been preserving the history of Southern Rhode Island since 1933. The museum campus hosts a main exhibition hall, blacksmith forge, carpentry barn, fiber shed, print shop, and working farm. Visit us and tour the grounds or take a workshop in one of our maker spaces.
This July South County Museum is offering a variety of family friendly activities & children's programming:

July 27th and 28th: Join the Battery “B” First Rhode Island Light Artillery at South County Museum for the School of the Soldier Experience. Suggested for ages 7-12, each 2-hour session will consist of a number of fun-filled, educational activities, demonstrations, and end with the firing of a real civil war cannon. Wednesdays at the museum are Family Nights. The museum is open from 3pm-7pm on Wednesdays. Admission is free to members or $10 per family after 5pm, and each Wednesday evening has a special event. News from Ocean State Waves
Summer Baseball is rapidly coming to a close. The Waves, a 501c3, have had an exciting season so far and are looking forward to the coming NECBL playoffs.
There is still time to visit Old Mountain Field in Wakefield to catch an exciting Ocean State Waves game. Bring the kids so they can meet and interact with our players, runs the “hill” and chase foul balls. The Waves play most Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Also, The Waves are always looking for new SPONSORS and DONATIONS to support our efforts this summer. All proceeds from sponsorships and donations will go directly to the Ocean State Waves and be used for the following expenses: Gear and Equipment, Travel Expenses, Baseballs, Field Rental Fees, Feeding Our Players and Staff, Field Upgrades, Player Development Fees, Liability Fees Etc.
