Hello!
Happy Summer and Happy Warrior Wednesday! We're enjoying a little bit of quiet on campus as we plan for our upcoming year. Onboarding new Foundation Board members; activating scholarships for fall 2025; budget planning; and we even squeezed in some Board of Directors fun at Red Car Brewery & Restaurant. We are ready to take on the fall semester and the excitement it brings to our campus. Let's all continue to enjoy a few more long days of summer!
Warmly,

| | Student Spotlight: Congratulations to El Camino's Student Trustee, Wesley Marshall and ASO President, Danielle Kabboul! | | |
Wesley Marshall, El Camino’s 2024-25 student trustee, will transfer to Stanford University in the fall, where he plans to continue his studies in management science and engineering. When asked how El Camino College prepared him for the future, Marshall stated, “I hope to enter engineering leadership to use technical engineering and advocacy for policies to enable scientific discovery.”
Additionally, El Camino’s 2024-25 Associated Student Organization President Danielle Kabboul reflected on how the college played a role in her self-actualization. “After being immersed in the student organizations, academic programs and vibrant communities that El Camino has to offer, I know a lot more about what community colleges can do,” said Kabboul, who plans to transfer to Yale University this fall and pursue her interests in global affairs and international human rights.
Good luck to Wesley and Danielle. Once A Warrior, Always A Warrior!

Campus Spotlight: 2025 Aerospace Summer Games Hosted at
El Camino College for the Second Year
| | |
This year, SpaceX won the 21st annual 2025 Aerospace Summer Games on July 12th held at El Camino College, reclaiming the title after back-to-back wins by Northrop Grumman. With nearly 10,000 attendees and an estimated 2,000 South Bay aerospace employees competing, it was the largest attended games in the competition's history. Teams participated in sports such as soccer, pickleball, ultimate frisbee, dodgeball, basketball, volleyball, and tug-of-war.
The games, which pit employees of South Bay aerospace companies against each other in nearly a dozen sporting event competitions, moved from Dockweiler Beach to El Camino College last year. All events are co-ed, except for elements of the two-person sports. Leading up to the games, team captains organize and hold practices for their company. The opening night bonfire was held at Dockweiler Beach as an homage to the Olympic torch, with an official sunset lighting.
The Aerospace Summer Games originated in 2002, as an informal event among a group of Boeing employees. This year, 78 companies forming 56 teams competed, up from 46 teams last year. Congratulations to all teams!
