The TRUST (Trial of Radical Upfront Surgical Therapy) study is a global, multicenter clinical trial investigating whether patients with advanced ovarian cancer benefit more from upfront radical surgery or standard treatment approaches. With participation from over 50 institutions worldwide, the study aimed to provide high-quality data on the role of surgery in improving survival and outcomes. New research offers hope for patients with small bowel adenocarcinoma and peritoneal metastases. This study, Real-world social determinants of health (SDOH) and outcomes of early-onset colorectal cancer: An analysis of a large, nationally representative US community oncology network, is an analysis of health records from almost 15,000 patients under 50 with colorectal cancer. The large international study shows that CRS/HIPEC can significantly improve survival in select patients—with median survival reaching 32 months. This is a major step forward for a rare cancer that’s often considered untreatable.
