Ponderosa Pine Utilization Summit

The Ponderosa Pine Utilization Summit will take place November 18-20, 2025, in Flagstaff, Arizona.


The Summit will convene industry, government, research, academia, economic development, and non-governmental organizations to explore innovative solutions and strategies for the long-term sustainable use and marketability of ponderosa pine.

Reflecting on National Wildland Firefighter Day

During the month of July, several Western states collaborated with their Governors to develop and sign proclamations to recognize National Wildland Firefighter Day.

COMPETITIVE GRANTS UPDATES

Community Wildfire Defense Grant (CWDG) Program


Round 3 closed for applications on March 14, 2025. The verification and review process is in progress, and when completed, the final ranked list will be sent for approvals before being announced.

Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Grant Program


The FY 2025 WUI grant application period is closed to applicants. This grant program has been scored, and the recommendation list has been sent to the Washington Office for approval.

NASF Awards - Submit Nominations by August 1

The NASF Awards Committee is accepting nominations for the 2025 NASF Current Achievement Awards. These awards recognize individuals who exemplify outstanding qualities in their respective areas of expertise, including forest public policy, fire protection, forest resource management, urban and community forestry, communications, leadership, and partnerships. 


Awardees will be recognized at NASF's Annual Meeting in Waimea, Hawai'i.
