July 2025 Newsletter

Dear Beloved Members, Pastors, and Supporters,

Have you ever noticed how you can walk past the same broken light bulb or cluttered corner for months without realizing it’s there? It becomes something you no longer see. The same can happen in our churches. Over time, we grow comfortable with our routines, our signage, our Sunday flow… even our blind spots.

That’s why having an outsider take a fresh look at your church can be a powerful tool for growth.

A church health consultant can share honest feedback because an outsider brings something we often lack: a fresh perspective. They notice what we’ve stopped seeing. They can ask the questions we’ve forgotten to ask. And sometimes, they highlight opportunities for greater impact that are hiding in plain sight.

Here are just a few ways a fresh set of eyes can serve your church:

•   First Impressions: Is your signage clear? Is the lobby welcoming? Do

guests know where to go and what to do? A visitor can answer these

questions in a way no regular attendee can.

•   Worship Experience: From sound quality to message clarity, what

feels “normal” to us may feel confusing or disconnected to someone

unfamiliar. Fresh eyes can help us bridge the gap.

•   Mission Drift: An outsider can help us evaluate if we’re still aligned

with our stated mission and values, or if we’ve started drifting.

•   Culture Check: Sometimes, church culture subtly shifts over time. An

external voice can help reveal if your church feels warm and inviting, or

cliquish and hard to break into.

Inviting outside perspective isn’t about criticism, it’s about humble curiosity. It’s saying, “We want to grow. We want to do better. We want to be faithful. And we know we don’t see everything ourselves.”

So consider inviting a person who wants you to succeed, and would give you honest feedback about your church experience. Reach out this month and let’s try to schedule a time for me to visit, observe, and share. A fresh insight might be the key to your next season of growth.

Here to Serve!
