Chamber of Commerce Sees New Leadership in 2025

Since April of 2022 the Piedmont Area Chamber of Commerce has been under the leadership of Piedmont native and longtime insurance agent, Stephanie Harbison of Southern Insurance. In her 3 years as President, Stephanie has dedicated not just her time but her knowledge and heart to the growth and strengthening of the organization. During that time two major events, the Piedmont UFO Fest and the Wayne County Outdoor Expo, have been added to the lineup of annual events while continuing the Businessperson of the Year Banquet, 4th of July Celebration and premier community event the Ozark Heritage Festival. Stephanie's dedication to the Chamber and the Piedmont area has been instrumental in furthering the Chamber's efforts. In early 2025, Stephanie made the decision to step down and President and take the treasurer roll, naming Ken Schultheis as her predecessor. Ken, owner of Clearwater Lake Resort, has served as the Chamber's vice president since 2022 and was a board member prior to that. Ken's deep ties to Clearwater Lake and dedication to continuing the relationship between the Lake and Piedmont will serve as an asset to his leadership and the Chamber as a whole. We thank Stephanie for her hard work and generous contributions and look forward to the continued advancements we will see throughout Ken's presidency.

Rotary Announces New President and Rotarian of the Year

Thursday, June 26th the Rotary Club of Piedmont swore in their new president, Debbie Hand. Current President, Ken Schultheis said that it was an honor to serve for the last year and he is confident that Debbie will do a great job continuing to guide the club in its efforts to bridge gaps in the county.

Brian Abbott, pastor of Trinity UMC, was also announced at Rotarian of the Year for his dedication to organizing relief efforts such as food drives, clean-up efforts and deliveries of materials after the spring tornadoes.

Congratulations to Debbie and Brian and thank you for your continued service to our community!
