Welcome, Everyone

If you're reading a PTG member e-newsletter for the first time, welcome! You’re one of 229 new members that have joined since January 1. All those new faces mean new opportunities for introductions, education and sharing, which is why PTG exists. If any of you have questions or needs, please get in touch with your chapter president, Regional Vice President, or the PTG Office. We’re here to help.

2025 PTG Convention & Technical Institute

Looking forward to seeing those who will be joining us in Des Moines!

If you’re registered, please make sure and review the 2025 Attendee E-Mail sent to you earlier this week.

Office and PTG Store Closures

The PTG Office will be closed from July 14-22. Please note that staff will have limited access to e-mail and voice messages during this time. Office hours will resume at 8 a.m. on July 23. You may continue to order online but no orders will be processed or shipped until the office reopens.

Piano Jobs Board

Looking for a job? Hoping to fill open or soon to be open positions? Let us help you connect during the 2025 PTG Convention and Technical Institute. We’ll have a dedicated bulletin board where job seekers and employers can post their information. There are no cost or registration requirements, but if you are interested in participating, we’d like to know. Please send a note to shawn@ptg.org or kathy@ptg.org.

Where Will Your Career Take You?

Not going to the convention? As a PTG member you can join the exclusive Piano Jobs community and receive e-mail notification of job openings as they go live at www.ptg.org. It’s a great way to explore new opportunities and review your current situation. Jobs vary from senior level university technicians to entry level retail operations and everything in between. Click here to go directly to the Piano Jobs community. Need to advertise a job opening? Contact Shawn Bruce at shawn@ptg.org or 913-432-9975.

Call for 2026 Institute Class Proposals

Planning for PTG's 2026 Convention and Technical Institute has already begun. We are seeking class proposals for the July 22-25 event in Washington D.C. If you have class ideas, this is your time to step up and share your knowledge and expertise. Click on Submit a PTG Technical Institute class proposal to present your class idea. Proposals are due by September 15.

Using Outreach Materials to Grow Your Chapter

Wondering why you’ve got people asking you about getting started in a piano technology career? Are you wondering how to respond? We’ve got answers. PTG is starting to see positive results from the Membership Outreach and Retention efforts. That means you might be seeing an increase in people interested in piano technology and the Piano Technicians Guild. As a chapter leader you might be wondering, “What do I do with them?” The PTG Marketing Committee and the PTG Chapter Health Committee have teamed up to bring you a checklist to help guide you and your fellow chapter members as PTG welcomes new faces and builds relationships. Visit the Membership Outreach & Retention site and view the new checklist. A big thanks to Committee Chairs Leeanna Queen, RPT and Daniel Haubert, RPT for their help in putting this together.

Chapter Grants

Congratulations to the Research Triangle Park PTG Chapter for their recent grant award of $2,000. They will be using the funds to implement a program called Pianos for Hope that provides donated pianos to victims of Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. It involves many volunteers and a great deal of team effort. If your chapter is interested in applying for a Chapter Grant, please visit https://www.ptg.org/members/chapter-resources.
