doctor giving young girl patient a high five

At Valley Children's Healthcare, the generosity of our donor community is more than support—it’s a lifeline. When Dr. Kyle Robinette, director of our Cochlear Implant Program, saw families struggling with the complex journey of cochlear implant surgery, he turned to the Foundation for help. And thanks to you, we were able to act.

Many of these families travel long distances and face overwhelming emotional and logistical challenges. Some children are born both deaf and blind, making the path to care even more daunting.

Because of your generosity, we are creating a suite of educational materials and videos that walk families through every stage of the cochlear implant process—from the first consultation to recovery at home. These resources offer clarity, comfort and confidence when families need it most.

This is the power of philanthropy: turning uncertainty into understanding, and fear into hope. These donations didn't just fund materials—they gave families the tools to navigate a life-changing experience with strength and support.

This initiative is just one example of how your donations directly improve the lives of children and families across the Central Valley. Every gift you make helps us go beyond medicine to provide our best compassionate care.

Valley Children's Healthcare extends a heartfelt thanks to Jay Gilbert, Farmers Warehouse Company, and Showtime Feed, a division of A.L. Gilbert Company, for their outstanding generosity and ongoing support. Since 2018, their dedicated employees and loyal customers have raised more than $100,000 to benefit Valley Children's Pelandale Specialty Care Center and Olivewood Pediatrics in the North Valley. This incredible commitment helps us advance our mission to continuously improve the health and well-being of children. We are truly grateful to Farmers Warehouse and Showtime Feed for being such vital partners in uplifting the communities we serve.

Kiwanis, a long-time partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, continues to support our mission at Valley Children’s Hospital with creativity and heart! Committed to strengthening the community through service and leadership, Kiwanis recently brought their passion to life in a unique fundraiser.

This past March, Kiwanis Division 18 held the Miracle Mile of Quarters event in Woodlake. Partnering with Key Clubs from high schools across Tulare and Kings counties, volunteers collected quarters that were then lined up to form a mile-long pattern—turning small change into big impact. Thanks to the dedication of Kiwanis Division 18 and the enthusiastic Key Club members, this event raised $14,457 for Valley Children’s Hospital this year. A huge thank you to Kiwanis and all the Key Club members for making miracles possible at Valley Children's!

We’re proud to recognize the employees and Warden of the Kern Valley State Prison for raising an impressive $10,000 during their 2025 Warden's Annual Charity Golf Tournament in support of Happy Hearts Campaign, held in memory of Heather Nugent. These funds help support activities, special projects and resources that contribute to the patient care environment, as well as developmental needs of staff, patients and families of the PICU.

This fundraiser was made possible by Skip Nugent, a Foundation Board Member, and his unwavering commitment to seeing Happy Hearts reach its $2 million goal. The compassionate care Heather received during her final days is what drives Skip Nugent and his family to continue this important philanthropic work. For them, this campaign is not only a way to give back but also a means to heal and honor Heather’s memory. Valley Children's Foundation is excited to share that this brings the Happy Hearts lifetime giving total to more than $1.8 million!

POM Wonderful continues to demonstrate their generosity and support of Valley Children’s Healthcare through the "Wonderful Giving" program. Through this program, many team members have chosen to donate to our hospital, with funds going directly toward our trauma services—one of the most critical areas of care for the children we serve.

"Wonderful Giving" allows full-time employees to contribute up to $1,000 annually to a nonprofit of their choice, with The Wonderful Company matching those donations. We’re honored that so many have selected Valley Children’s to be the recipient of their generosity, and we deeply appreciate this initiative that continues to strengthen our community.

Valley Children's Child Life was the proud recipient of a recent donation—a full pallet of LEGO sets—from our generous partners at GameChanger Charity. This thoughtful gift brought immense joy to the patients visiting the Playroom and Clubhouse. The LEGO sets sparked creativity, comfort, and smiles—making a meaningful impact on the kids and families we serve. Thank you, GameChanger, for helping us create moments of happiness and healing through play!

We sincerely appreciate Lanna Coffee Company for their meaningful partnership and continued support of Valley Children's Hospital. Through their specially crafted, 5-star rated Valley Children’s medium roast blend—available online for $16 per bag—$5 from every purchase goes directly to supporting our hospital’s most urgent needs. We are so grateful for Lanna Coffee Company for turning their passion for coffee into a powerful force for good in our community.
