River Cities Central Office and Intergroup are currently operating with several vacant service positions and limited participation from local groups.
Principles before personalities means showing up for the fellowship, even when circumstances aren't ideal.
Every AA group deserves a voice. We encourage each group to send a representative to the monthly Intergroup meeting held on the second Monday of each month.
Service positions are available, but the first step is simply showing up!

The Twelve Concepts and
Our Shared Service Work
The Twelve Concepts help explain how service in AA works — who makes decisions, how responsibility is shared, and how trusted servants support the Fellowship.
They remind us that AA belongs to the groups. Service bodies exist to help groups, not to direct them, and group conscience keeps everything connected and accountable.
Throughout 2026, we’ll look at one Concept each month to better understand how our service structure works and how every group plays a part.
Concept VII
"VII. The Charter and Bylaws of the General Service Board are legal instruments, empowering the trustees to manage and conduct world service affairs. The Conference Charter is not a legal document; it relies upon tradition and the A.A. purse for final effectiveness."
Concept VII reminds us that A.A. balances structure with trust.
The General Service Board uses legal documents, such as its Charter and Bylaws, to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to it. These tools help ensure that A.A.'s world services can operate effectively and responsibly.
At the same time, the General Service Conference is guided not by legal authority, but by the collective conscience of the Fellowship. Its effectiveness depends on the support, participation, and trust of A.A. members and groups.
This Concept highlights an important principle in A.A. service: structure provides stability, while tradition and group conscience provide guidance.
Concept VII encourages us to value both responsibility and accountability as we work together to carry A.A.'s message to those who still suffer.

Hey friends,
July has a way of reminding us to get outside, slow down, and enjoy the people around us.
For many of us, that wasn't always easy.
Before recovery, life often felt like something we were trying to get through. One day at a time wasn't a slogan—it was survival.
AA offers something more.
Somewhere along the way, we begin to notice the changes. We find ourselves laughing after meetings, showing up for service commitments, attending events, making new friends, and reconnecting with life.
That's the spirit behind this month's theme: Life Beyond Survival.
Recovery isn't just about putting down the drink. It's about picking up a life worth living.
Not a perfect life. Not a problem-free life.
A life filled with purpose, fellowship, and hope.
As we celebrate the summer season, may we remember that every meeting, every act of service, and every conversation with a newcomer helps keep that gift alive.
Thank you for being part of this community and for helping carry the message throughout River Cities.
