Some of this is adapted from previous newsletters about Neptune retrograde, but the dates, degrees and signs are unique to this retrograde cycle. I do have to note that last year when Neptune stationed retrograde in Pisces, which Neptune rules, we saw unimaginable floods in Texas especially destroying a children's camp and causing many lives to be lost. My heart is still with the families who lost lives of their loved ones. Let's hope that this month does not see the same, though the idea of rising tides, especially around the Full Moon, and flooding are still possible, in addition to the heat waves taking place throughout the United States and Europe.
Now that the Retrograde Parade has begun, we see that Pluto, Mercury, and Neptune are retrograde. After Mercury goes direct on July 23, Saturn will retrograde on July 26. Uranus stations retrograde on September 10th so just as in previous years, the late summer and early fall, brings a slow progression and a reversal of things that may have been put forward. That could be our personal lives, or the world outside ourselves.
As seen above Neptune retrogrades for five months each year, so that there often does not feel as if there is much of a difference between when it is in direct or retrograde motion. What is most important are the dates and degrees that Neptune stations retrograde and direct, since the planet has already parked on the stationary degree the week or two before and after the retrograde and direct stations. Since Neptune represents things dissolving and breaking down, and like the idea of flooding, which Neptune represents, there is often no chance of rebuilding what has been left behind except to attempt something completely new.
Neptune represents lack of clarity, that sometimes translates into confusion, deception, or escapism, but sometimes especially when it retrogrades it can just mean dissolving something and creating something new. Since Mercury also represents lack of clarity it is so very important through the time Mercury stations direct on July 23 to make sure you are clear in what you say, and if you do not understand what someone else says then just ask that person to repeat themselves. The problem with Neptune is that sometimes something you are working on comes to an end, and it was not something over which you had control. It just happens due to outside circumstances, and then you have to simply find a new path. Often in the world there are events that cause a government to dissolve, a structure to collapse, certain investments and financial outlook to be unclear, or a major company to fall apart.
This uncertainty in solidifying connections seems to also define the fact that there is still no definitive peace treaty between Iran and the United States, even though there seems to be multiple attempts. Since the war in Iran began on February 28, which was the day Mars conjoined the degree of the February 17 solar eclipse, it may not be possible to solidify an agreement until October when the North Node-Rahu conjoins that eclipse degree. time will tell, and hopefully things will begin to take a positive direction even though the retrograde Neptune and Mercury may indicate otherwise. Of course there are also other conflicts like Ukraine-Russia still going on, and any peace agreements on that end could also take time to happen, if at all.
If you translate this to your personal lives, the emphasis really is on communication and coming together, and trying to heal things that may appear to be coming apart. Sometimes you have to let things go, and that is often very difficult, but at other times, there is healing and transformation that can take place as long as you know you can dissolve habits and patterns and begin anew. Sometimes you cannot control things that get washed away, and at those times, it is still important not to dwell in the past but to rebuild and move into the future. But it does mean constructing something new, and not necessarily reconstructing something from the past. station. What this means is in keeping with the theme of a Neptune retrograde station, there are things that are broken down and will be reformulated, for better or worse.
This is always a possibility when anything is negotiated or mediated during a retrograde Neptune station especially this year when Mercury is also retrograde. That does not mean that you cannot negotiate within the entire five months period since that would paralyze the world for that long, and the Neptune retrograde occurs for 5 out of 12 months during the year. It is more for the week before and after the Neptune retrograde station. This time I would extend it until Mercury stations direct, and even more so until Mercury goes back to its regular motion after it leaves the retrograde arc (shadow) on August 7. In general we can expect more confusion and changes of plans due to lack of clarity that Neptune brings, and communication difficulties that Mercury retrograde brings. Once Saturn retrogrades on July 25, then we will be heading into eclipse season between August 12-28.
At the moment the financial world is a bit lopsided in that the cost of living has gone up, but the financial markets have also gone up, meaning if you were able to afford doing stock market investing over the past few months, and chose the right stocks, you did very well. But if you cannot do that, you are aware that the price of food and gas have risen. Once the planets begin to retrograde market growth might slow down, and I might be conservative, but I would just suggest that if you are an investor who has been successful over the last few months, you might consider changing your investing strategy and lessen risk taking. This might become noticeable once Saturn stations retrograde on July 26 for its usual 4 1/2 months through December 10, 2026.
Just as Neptune can bring confusion, falling apart, and changing things around in an unpredictable way, you will especially be affected by transiting Neptune if you have a planet, point, or angle between Tropical 1 Aries 36-4 Aries 25 or between Sidereal 7 Pisces 28-10 Pisces 17. Neptune will cross that degree 3 times within a 10-month period, and it already would have hit the degree when it went direct, another time over the next five months as it retrogrades, and once more when Neptune goes direct again. If you have a planet, point, or angle at the same degree of the retrograde or direct station, Neptune will hit something in your chart twice, once during the station and the other time on another date. This does not mean you will feel confused the entire time that Neptune moves between the two retrograde and direct stations, but it means if something in your life needs to be transformed or rebuilt, you will have time to figure out and forge a new path, even if something happens without much warning in advance.
