Dear Friends and Supporters,


July has been full, and as usual, PAG has been moving on more than one track at a time. We have been reflecting, learning, organizing, asking questions, and yes, still finding time to celebrate community along the way. Pension advocacy does not come with an “off” switch.


This month’s update brings together a few pieces of that work. I share a personal reflection on what it means to leave people behind, from a quiet afternoon on Muskego Lake to the ongoing concerns we have about Tier 2. 

As repealing Tier 2 becomes a central focus for PAG, we are also sharing an educational article that explains the difference between Tier 1 and Tier 2 and why this divide matters for CTPF members.

We also look back at our Senior Prom summer fundraiser, a joyful reminder that this work is sustained by people who continue to show up, support one another, and believe that earned benefits are worth protecting.

PAG’s work continues to grow, and so does our leadership. We are pleased to welcome and recognize our 2026-27 Board of Directors, whose experience, commitment, and support will help guide PAG’s next chapter and move this work forward. Formal introductions coming soon.

In Tina's latest note, her reflection begins on a quiet lake but quickly moves to a larger question: what happens when people are left behind? 

From the Amerasian Homecoming Act to Tier 2, she connects personal memory, public policy, and PAG’s next chapter.

Tier 1 and Tier 2 members contribute to the same pension system, but they do not follow the same retirement rules. 


This educational resource explains the divide, why Tier 2 offers less protection, and why PAG supports repealing it.

PAG’s Senior Prom brought together music, food, dancing, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and a whole lot of pension advocacy spirit.

PAG continues to monitor issues that may affect members, retirees, beneficiaries, and newer educators, including:


• Tier 2 pension legislation and reform efforts
• CTPF governance, communication, and public accountability
• Trustee voting transparency
• Retiree healthcare funding
• Public education funding and revenue proposals
• Opportunities for public participation, trustee elections, and legislative advocacy


We will continue sharing updates as these issues develop.

PAG’s work grows when members, educators, and supporters help share reliable information and support pension education, transparency, and advocacy.
