YOUTH IN ARTS AND WORSHIP 2026

The heart of discipleship is found in the relationships we build across generations and cultures. It is a vital practice that enriches our faith community and fosters spiritual growth in profound ways. During the first 2 weeks of June, we held our Youth in Arts and Worship (Y.A.W.) Camp. Y.A.W. provided a unique platform for students to explore their talents and connect with their faith. By integrating hands-on activities, we've seen students not only develop new skills but also build lasting friendships. We are extremely grateful to those who volunteered, contributed financially and prayed for the camp. We hope you enjoy a few of the pictures from this year's camp.

Your generosity to this cause is very much appreciated. The folks at the animal shelter are quite grateful for all donations. If you have more to donate, Robin will be going again in several weeks. All donations can be left in the Sunday school room on the left as you enter the chapel.

Weekly Prayer Time via Zoom

Wednesday Night Prayer Time is on Zoom each week at 7 pm. By having prayer time on Zoom, it is our hope and prayer to be more interactive and connected as a community. You can join the call by using this link: Weekly Prayer Time on Zoom

Meghan's Sewing Ministry at Ebenezer:

A Wonderful Week of Sewing and Fellowship

What a wonderful time was had by all the students who attended our Sewing Classes for children ages 8–12! These classes were led by Pam Akin with the help of Ann, Phyllis, Robin, Suzie, Donna, and Kathy, along with the prayers and encouragement of the other members of our Sewing Ministry who were unable to attend.

Many hours of work went into designing the projects, preparing the project kits, and organizing the classes so they would run smoothly. These women are truly a blessing to our church and to the young students they have taught.

During the three-day class, each girl successfully completed a strip pillow, a mug rug, and a fabric basket. They proudly took their projects home to enjoy and use. Each student was paired with a mentor who worked alongside her throughout the week, providing guidance, encouragement, and plenty of smiles.

Our Sewing Ministry is grateful for the opportunity to teach these young girls the joy of sewing. We also shared with them the story of how Meghan's Sewing Ministry began. Many years ago, Meghan, an eight-year-old girl who loved to sew, made numerous prayer blankets with her mother. In her memory, we committed ourselves to carrying on her love of sewing by teaching others and using our gifts to serve Christ.

We want every child to understand that this ministry is about much more than learning to sew. It is a ministry of love and compassion that reaches out to people in our community and around the world through handmade gifts that bring comfort, encouragement, and hope.

These seven young girls can now go forth and perhaps create something special for someone who will be blessed by their act of love and kindness. Someday, you may even receive a prayer blanket, basket, or another handmade gift lovingly created by one of these young students.

A heartfelt thank you to all the ladies who made these classes possible, both for our younger students and for the older girls participating in our Summer 2026 sewing program. Your dedication, generosity, and servant hearts are helping preserve the art of sewing while inspiring the next generation to use their talents to bless others.

SPECIAL NOTE: We will not meet in August. We will resume monthly meetings in September.

With love,

  Joyce Rosser

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL - 10:30 to 11:00 am - We want to help families with children engage in their faith journey. Our goal is to assist parents and caregivers in helping children establish a strong foundation in their Christian faith. We are committed to creating a fun, safe, and welcoming space for children to learn and develop their relationship with God.

PATHFINDERS is a discussion class that meets in the front room of the chapel. Fellowship begins at 9:30am and class study begins at 9:45am. We are people with diverse interests, and about a 30-year age span, but all are here to learn what God would teach us, either from His Word, or from the inspiration of those who also love Him. If you have been considering joining a Sunday school class, this is the perfect time to check out the Pathfinders’ class. You will not regret it!

HIS G.R.O.U.P. is composed of a group of people of all ages, single & married that meet in one of the back rooms of the Chapel to study the Bible. Everyone’s viewpoint is important, so we have lots of discussions on different topics. We love food so we rotate who brings breakfast and coffee is always ready! Other than our weekly class we support many things, but our first consideration is the Ebenezer Preschool. Knowing many of the children don’t hear about Jesus except in this school is what pushes us on to help in any way we can. We also enjoy fellowship with each other outside of Sunday School.

The Food Pantry at Rockdale Emergency Relief is in need of canned and dry foods. Donations of food can be placed in the basket next to the sound booth in the Chapel. Donations are taken to the RER donation center at least once a month. A few reminders about food and supply donations:

  • RER does NOT accept items that are past their expiration dates. RER is a non-profit organization that has committed itself to standards that parallel those of grocery stores and therefore does not distribute expired food products.
  • RER accepts food in good condition that is free of dents and spoilage.
  • RER tries to bring the full grocery store experience to all clients to provide more than

food. We accept items such as toiletries, cleaning products, dishwashing liquid, and laundry soap.

The following items are in short supply, greatest needs are highlighted:

CEREAL, BEEF STEW, CHICKEN&DUMPLINGS, JELLY, CHILI, CRACKERS, OATMEAL, MAC & CHEESE, GRITS, CANNED CHICKEN, CANNED TOMATOES, SPAGHETTI SAUCE, SPAGHETTI NOODLES, DEODORANT, SHAMPOO

Thank you for your support!
