The stats are in - the Carnation community is full of superstar recyclers! Thank you to everyone who participated in the event.
388 carloads of recyclable material arrived. The total amount of material collected was 73,695 pounds, or nearly 37 tons!

- 33 used refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners.
- 149 TV sets
- 44 computer monitors
- 6,520 pounds of shredded paper
- 17 propane tanks.
- 3,200 pounds of scrap wood.

- 3,510 household batteries
- 3 toilets and sinks.
- 22 mattresses and box springs

Skyhawks Sports Academy in partnership with the City hosted free soccer clinics ahead of the games coming to Seattle.
Mayor Ribail and Councilmember Harrison also got in the soccer spirit. We had to remind the Mayor he didn’t have to referee the event.

The City of Carnation is partnering with KLD Associates to conduct a comprehensive All-Hazards Evacuation Time Study. The findings from this survey will enhance Carnation’s emergency response plans. The City of Carnation is currently constructing the Carnation Community Campus, located next to the entrance of Tolt MacDonald Park at 4001 Tolt Avenue. This future facility will serve as our customer service center, Council Chambers, and administrative offices.
Our current City Hall building at 4621 Tolt Avenue has been sold, and City Hall operations will move to a temporary location while the Carnation Community Campus is being completed. Below are answers to frequently asked questions about this transition.
Where will City Hall operations be moving temporarily?
City Hall operations will relocate to the City-owned live-work unit in the new 85 Degrees development, located at 4248 Tolt Avenue, Carnation, WA 98014. This temporary facility will be known as the Municipal Services Center (MSC).

When will the Municipal Services Center (MSC) open?
The MSC will open Monday, October 5th, 2026. The current City Hall’s last day of operations will be Friday, September 25th, 2026. City Hall will be closed September 28th – October 2nd, 2026, for the move.
What services will be provided at the MSC?
The services provided at the current City Hall will also be available at the MSC:
- Customer Service
- Utility Billing
- Passport Services
- Permit Services
What are the MSC hours of operation?
Hours will remain the same as current City Hall:

- Closed for lunch from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Passport Hours will also remain the same as current City Hall:
- Monday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Wednesday: No Passport Services
- Thursday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Where will the utility bill drop-box be located?
A utility bill drop-box will be available at the MSC’s front entrance.
Where will I park at the MSC?
There is street parking on Eugene Street and Stossel Avenue. There are ADA spaces within the 85 Degrees development. There will also be one space behind the unit for quick drops offs.
How long will City Hall operations be at the MSC?
City Hall operations will remain at the MSC until the Carnation Community Campus opens, which is slated for Summer 2027.
Will the City’s mailing address, phone number, or primary email change?
No. The City’s mailing address, phone number, and primary email will remain unchanged.

When and where will Council Meetings be held?
Council Meetings will continue to occur on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM. Meetings will be held at Eastside Fire & Rescue Station 85 (3600 Tolt Avenue, Carnation, WA 98014).
How long will Council Meetings be held at the Fire Station?
The final Council Meeting at the current City Hall will be October 6th, 2026. Beginning October 20th, 2026, Council Meetings will be held at Station 85 and will continue there until the Carnation Community Campus opens.
Who purchased the current City Hall building?
The building at 4621 Tolt Avenue was purchased by Pinnacle Holdings, LLC and will be converted into a rural medical clinic offering primary and specialty care.
What will happen to the MSC once City Hall moves to the Carnation Community Campus?
The City is evaluating future uses for the MSC property and will determine the best community-serving option in 2027.

City of Carnation and Skyhawks Sports are partnering to put on Sports Camps this Summer!
All camps are Monday – Friday at Valley Memorial Park (3810 Stossel Ave, Carnation, WA 98014).
Camps range from $159-$249. Scholarships available!

Every day, hospitals rely on blood donations to support emergency care, surgeries, cancer treatments, and other critical medical procedures. Because blood cannot be manufactured, volunteer donors play an essential role in helping patients receive the transfusions they need.
In about an hour, you can help strengthen the blood supply and support local hospitals throughout the summer.

New improvements have been made at the Valley Memorial Park Pump Track & Skate Bowl!
An asphalt path was put in to provide easy paved access from the parking lot. Also, a new half pipe was installed in the skate bowl!

Councilmember Paquette represented the City of Carnation at the Association of Washington Cities Annual Conference Parade of Flags!
Nearly 600 city leaders and partners representing 163 cities and towns across Washington gathered at the 2026 AWC Annual Conference in Spokane June 23-26 to learn about issues critical to the success of municipal governments. This year’s theme—Washington United—reflected Washington cities’ commitment to working together to help their communities thrive while giving a nod to the World Cup-related events happening across the state.

Councilmember Cheryl Paquette was honored last week at the Empower Youth Network Rise and Shine Breakfast, an annual event celebrating the extraordinary individuals in our community whose volunteer efforts inspire and empower youth to lead safe, healthy, and successful lives.
Councilmember Paquette and her work with the Remlinger Heritage Foundation have made a meaningful and lasting impact on the Carnation community through its dedication to youth, education, and cultural preservation. The Foundation provides educational programming that engages young people in local history, arts, and culture, fostering curiosity, creativity, and a strong sense of community connection.
