As we enjoy the dog days of summer (stay cool out there!), we're looking forward to our upcoming Abdominal Cancers Awareness Campaigns in August and September. First, Appendix Cancer Awareness Month in August is a time to raise awareness of this rare cancer that is often difficult to recognize and frequently diagnosed only after it has reached an advanced stage. Throughout the month, we'll be sharing resources, educational programs, and opportunities to help patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals better understand appendix cancer and the importance of specialized care.
We're also preparing an upcoming webinar exploring how pathology plays such a critical role in appendix cancer treatment decisions. Additionally, We are excited to share two new resources to support recovery after CRS/HIPEC: Physical Therapy and Pain Management.
We're also excited about our upcoming 17th Annual Golf Outing and Helicopter Ball Drop. Join us for these annual fundraisers help fuel out mission to provide education, advocacy, and hope to patients and families facing abdominal cancers.

| Sexual Well-Being After CRS/HIPEC Treatment for Ovarian Cancer | |
A new study found that many ovarian cancer survivors experience challenges with sexual well-being after cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and HIPEC treatment. Common concerns included vaginal dryness, pain during sex, reduced desire, and body image changes. Despite these issues, only one-third of patients received sexual health support.

Comparing Two Ways to Deliver Chemotherapy Directly into the Abdomen for Peritoneal Cancer Spread (CHARLIE-2 Trial) HIPEC vs PIPAC | |
The CHARLIE-2 trial is the first randomized study to directly compare HIPEC and PIPAC, two methods of delivering chemotherapy directly into the abdomen for patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis. Researchers will evaluate safety, quality of life, treatment response, and cost to determine which approach may provide the greatest benefit for patients who are not candidates for complete tumor-removal surgery.
