July 2026 Update

New Aṣṭakavarga Class

Recording: What's Next: July-December 2026 Webinar

Hi all

Welcome to both subscribers and those reading my newsletter for the first time. If you are having trouble reading this, please click on the above website link, and the page will open up with the right colors and layout. If you missed the June News & Views Part 3 about Mercury retrograde link here conta.cc/44A2qvX. If you missed the July News & Views about Neptune retrograde link here conta.cc/4gXOMKo. Please excuse typos or mistakes below. Feel free to notify me if you find any.

This is just a quick update and I hope that you are managing to enjoy the summer, even though it has been alternating between heat waves and pouring rains throughout the country. This is to let you know that I will be sending a newsletter within the coming week addressing the upcoming planetary signatures of July, namely Mercury direct on the 23rd, Saturn retrograde on the 26th, and the Nodes entering tropical Aquarius/Leo on the 26th. (The Nodes will enter sidereal Capricorn/Cancer on November 25, 2026.)

Please scroll down for information about Aṣṭakavarga classes. This is an exciting topic that most people do not use as completely as possible. Early bird rates end midnight July 27.

I know that many of you have been inundated with social media postings about "Barbault’s Basket," which refers to four planets all being tropical 4 degrees and sidereal 10 degrees between July 19-23. These are Jupiter at 4 Leo/10 Cancer, Uranus 4 Gemini/10 Taurus, Neptune 4 Aries/10 Pisces, Pluto 4 Aquarius/10 Capricorn. Of course if you do very classical Jyotisa, it will not concern you because you do not use Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto. But for those who do use tropical astrology, western sidereal, or neo-Vedic astrology, you will have heard all about this unique planetary alignment unless you do not pay attention to social media. Mostly if you do have planets, angles, or points around those degrees, whatever is being hit will be brought into focus.

You will also know that if you attended my What’s New: July-December 2026 webinar, presented on June 21, 2026, I was not as focused on that as much as other current planetary signatures that will make a huge difference in the next six months, namely the Solar Eclipse degree of February 17, 2026 at Tropical. 28° Aquarius 49’ Sidereal. 04° Aquarius 42’, which was conjoined by Mars on February 28, which was the start of the war in Iran. We now have the true North Node-Rahu coming to that exact degree on October 10, but because we are now approaching August eclipses, the true North Node-Rahu will actually be around that degree from August to October. (More about that in the August 2026 News & Views.)

Because that degree is conjoined the descendant of President Trump’s chart, it also indicated that he, and the country which he heads, will be in the news and will be involved in intense activities, like the Iran war. It may also indicate something else of great importance, but because the Iran War was initiated when Mars hit that eclipse degree, this is one of the things that these powerful cycles bring. During the What’s New webinar on June 21, I said that I did not think any of the peace negotiations that were in effect at that time would actually take place, but that the next three months August through October, would really define what happens not just between Iran and the United States, but on a global basis. But it will get resolved. It just looks like a longer and more drawn out battle especially during eclipse season, which will have more global ramifications. More about that in the August News and Views.

Recordings and presentation are available to order for my annual webinar What's Next: July-December 2026. which was presented for 3 hours on Sunday June 21st. You can order at ronniedreyer.com/schedule and you will receive the recordings and presentation within 24 hours.

In this series of 3 classes, we will add Aṣṭakavarga (division of eight parts) to our tool box. This eight-fold division is used to weigh strengths and weaknesses of the houses in the natal chart as well as strength and weakness of transits (gocara). This is a great system, which seems complex but is much easier than it looks. We will unpack how bindus deposit positive points, and rekhas deposit negative points, resulting in the rating system of each house. This system will be explained methodically using chart examples and looking at the transits of the next six months to see how each transiting planet fares.

July 2026 Lunations: Full Moon and New Moon (Times listed in GMT)

July 14, 2026. New Moon. 9:44

Tropical. 21° Cancer 59'. Sidereal. 27° Gemini 51'. punarvasū

July 29, 2026. Full Moon. 17:36

Tropical. 6° Aquarius 30'. Sidereal. 12° Capricorn 22’. śravaṇā

Looking at the placements of the lunations of July 2026, if you have any planets, points, or angles around those degrees (I would take a one-two degree orb) then whatever is represented by that planet, point, or angle, will be prominent and important until the next lunation, meaning that if something in your chart is conjunct the degree of this month's New Moon on July 14, 2026, it may be prominent until next month's New Moon Solar Eclipse on August 12, 2026. If something in your chart is conjunct the degree of this month's Full Moon on July 29, 2026, it may be prominent until next month's Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on August 28, 2026.

The New Moon represents beginnings and can help you to institute a change you have been thinking about while the Full Moon is an accomplishment or culmination and gives the push to continue on that path. If you have planets, points, or angles conjunct this month's lunations, you will feel a need to take action with either something new (New Moon) or the manifestation of something you have been working on (Full Moon). Of course, the houses that these lunations fall in, will highlight those areas of life as well.

If your birthday is between July 13-15, then the New Moon is in your solar return (varṣaphala), the annual birthday chart, or close enough that it will be important for the year ahead until your next birthday, meaning that a change is bound to happen, so work on that change. It could be a physical move, job change, relationship change, or simply working on yourself to integrate new patterns and habits into your life. Expect a great deal of transformative experiences that will make you want to change or take a step in a different direction. Take your time but do head in that direction, since otherwise it will happen to you whether you initiate it or not.

If your birthday is between July 28-July 30, then the Full Moon is in your solar return (varṣaphala), the annual birthday chart, or close enough that it will be important for the year ahead until your next birthday, meaning that it may be a year when things you have been working on will manifest, or feel like they are moving in the right direction, so continue with whatever is fulfilling you. Set your intentions high and gather your confidence since this is the year when things will take place. The Full Moon on your birthday is especially important since the year ahead will be even more significant than usual. Make sure that you are prepared to make those changes that come with manifesting your hopes, otherwise they can pass you by.

The July lunations also occurred on the same dates and degrees in 1969, 1988 and 2007 according to the 19-year Metonic cycle so think about anything important that might have occurred in that birthday year. Although other planets will be different from those years, it still may indicate the area of change or importance in those years. (Scroll down for more Celestial Events.)

My lectures:

Sun. Sept. 6. 11:00-12:15. Astro*Carto*Graphy in Action: Timing is Everything;

Cyclo*Carto*Graphy, a term coined by the late Jim Lewis, adds timing techniques like transits and progressions to an Astro*Carto*Graphy map, which shows where in the world your natal planets are angular. Discover the best times and places to move, make money, start a business, find love, or experience any life event. Timing is everything and Ronnie, who draws on many years of working with Astro*Carto*Graphy and with Jim himself, answers those questions: Where and When.

Monday. September 7. 4:30-5:45.

Magnificent Venus Cycle and a Preview of the Upcoming Venus Retrograde.

The planet Venus is magnificent to behold, and its singular cycle consists of the synodic 8-year (and 4-year) periods, Sun-Venus conjunctions (combustion or cazimi), and heliacal rising/setting of the morning/evening star. Ronnie will share examples from her book on Venus, to show how these phenomena can forecast personal and mundane events with amazing precision. We will also preview the upcoming Venus retrograde from 10/3-11/13. This lecture applies to all zodiacs.

Star Light Star Bright: An Examination of Fixed Stars in Natal & Mundane Charts

We all know about Nakshatras and the Yoga Taras that appear in each Nakshatra. But

there are many other stars, some bright and on the ecliptic, and others that are dimmer

and farther away, that connect with planets, or are otherwise prominent, in world events

and individual horoscopes. In this lecture, Ronnie will look at a handful of specific stars (some of which may be yoga taras) that are a vital part of chart interpretation. Case studies are based on what was written in classic texts plus Ronnie’s own observations based on years of practice.
