On July 1, updated wastewater and stormwater rates took effect for both the City of Eugene and City of Springfield.

Read on for information on rate changes, who administers the fees, and how rates support the essential service of safe wastewater collection and treatment.

• The Eugene-Springfield area operates separate systems for stormwater and wastewater, so you will see both stormwater and wastewater fees reflected in your 2026-2027 rates brochures
• Wastewater fees are separated into a flat base fee, a local flow-based fee (City of Eugene or City of Springfield), and a regional flow-based fee (MWMC)
• Eugene Water and Electric Board (EWEB) serves as the City of Eugene's stormwater and wastewater billing agent, so fees will appear for City of Eugene residents on their EWEB bill - these are not EWEB fees
• Springfield Utility Board (SUB) serves as the Springfield's stormwater and wastewater billing agent, so fees will appear for City of Springfield residents on their SUB bill - these are not SUB fees
• Similarly, EWEB and SUB also serve as the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission's billing agents
