Severe Weather Safety

From extreme heat to flash flooding, summertime severe weather can have a significant impact on schools. The Illinois School and Campus Safety Resource Center's page on Severe Weather shares resources for both K-12 schools and institutions of higher education. Whether there are concerns about heat-related illnesses, a school is working on updating emergency operations plans in the event of flooding, or plans or being made for an earthquake drill, the severe weather page provides links to a variety of resources from the Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Technical Assistance Center, Ready.gov, FEMA, shakeout.org, and more.
