Construction Update

July 20th PBC Update

We have some new team members, joining #TeamSauganash

We are very excited to welcome some new teachers to our team! They will be great additions to our school community and bring some great energy to our students & learning environment!

Ms. Margaret Anders

4th Grade Teacher (ELA)

My name is Meggie Anders and I am thrilled to be joining Sauganash School! This will be my 17th year teaching. I previously taught 2nd grade at the School of St. Mary for three years and was a 1st grade teacher at Alexander Graham Bell School for the past thirteen years.

I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, so I have taken a lot of fun, challenging, and relevant coursework to prepare me for such an important role. I received my BA in Elementary Education from Saint Mary’s College before getting my Master’s Degree from DePaul University. I am a certified Reading Specialist and have an endorsement to teach English Language Learners. I love watching my students learn and grow into educated, capable, and caring individuals.

I love live music and spending time with friends and family. When I am not in the classroom you can find me chasing around my two toddlers or crafting with my embroidery and monogram machines. I am looking forward to meeting all of you!

Ms. Echo Lynch

Pre-K Teacher

Hello Sauganash families! I am Echo Lynch and will join the new Pre-K team. I am excited to be a part of the amazing team and community at Sauganash. I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in May 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I recently finished my first year of teaching at Dever Elementary, where I taught Pre-K as well. It has been my dream ever since I was in elementary school to teach Pre-K. Pre-K is filled with learning, fun, and even a little magic. I am determined to create a classroom where students feel welcomed, appreciated, and excited to learn.

A little about me outside of the classroom! I love to spend my free time at concerts or sporting events with friends. I am a proud Chicago Northwest side resident. I love to explore any chance I get. This upcoming year I am looking to travel more, preferably warm locations as I am not a fan of the cold. I also have a sweet but crazy dog at home named Bentley who I enjoy taking on long walks.

I look forward to this upcoming year with everyone. Together we will make this an amazing school year!

Ms. Ellie Kroeger

6th Grade Teacher (5/6th Science)

My name is Ellie Kroeger, and I am so excited to be joining the Sauganash team! I have been teaching middle school science for 3 years in Pilsen. My favorite part of teaching is hearing all of the amazing science questions students ask. My goal is to support students in seeing themselves as scientists, and to provide them the tools to figure out how their world works. Before teaching, I graduated from Northwestern where I studied Neuroscience.

Outside of school, I spend a lot of time at the rock climbing gym, or working on my knitting projects. I also love snuggling with my two cats, Calvin and Rudy.

Ms. Urszula Ozga

6th Grade Teacher (Math)

My name is Urszula Ozga, and I am beyond excited to join the Sauganash team. I was born in Poland and came to the United States when I was eleven years old. Math was a strength of mine from an early age because that was the first subject I was able to excel in before learning English. I am proud to say that my twin brother and I attended neighborhood CPS schools and our wonderful teachers inspired me to study education. I graduated from Depaul University with a degree in Elementary Education and later obtained my Masters in Instructional Leadership at UIC. While teaching math and social science for seventeen years in CPS, I have been fortunate to meet and collaborate with amazing students, families, and staff.

After all these years, I wake up each morning excited to see what my students will teach me- what new ways of thinking and solving they might suggest. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love to go on daily walks with my dog and two daughters. We spend our summers swimming and trying new things. I can't wait to get to know everyone and continue my professional journey at Sauganash.

Ms. Catherine Ryan

Upper Grade DL (SPED)

Hi! My name is Catherine Ryan. I am so excited to be joining the Sauganash team as a special education teacher. I graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in special education. I have spent the past 9 years teaching 9th and 10th grade special education at Baker College Prep. Outside of school I can be found spending time with my husband, 8 month old son, and our dog. We love exploring our neighborhood and spending time walking the lakefront. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year and being a part of the Sauganash community!
