Emergency Communications in Schools

In his article “Emergency Communications Within the School Environment,” Lt. Jon Quast of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office discusses the importance of effective communication in helping ensure a successful response to a crisis. Additionally, the article provides considerations to take into account when planning emergency communications for schools, such as how to contact those outside of the building as well as those in noisy classrooms who wouldn't be able to hear emergency communications over the public address system.
