July 24 Greetings
A little late due to Constant Contact technical difficulties!
Dear Ones,

It’s Friday, the end of another week, as we continue to “Be Church Together” even as we are apart. It is clear to me that the Arizona monsoons are fickle. Jeanne Currie Tomlinson told me that there was 1½” of rain at her house in Dewey on Wednesday. Practically nothing at my house in Prescott Valley—I definitely have monsoon envy…maybe today will be the day!
The pictures from Jenni and Bear Johnson on their road trip through some National Parks are truly stunning.
We have another week for the
Emmanuel is collecting backpacks and school supplies for the Family Resource Center with Humboldt Unified School District. The distribution will happen on August 8, so we have until the 31 st before the supplies need to be dropped off. School will likely look different for most kids this fall, but backpacks and supplies will still be needed. Please bring any items to the church by Friday, July 31 .

If you aren’t getting out much, consider making a donation to help purchase supplies. A pack and supplies is about $41 for a high/middle school student and $38 for an elementary student. Last year we gave over 100 backpacks; right now we have about 20 that have been brought in.
Have any ideas about where the
Endowment Fund distribution should go?
You can download the Endowment Fund Grant Application two ways:
  • Click on the Endowment Fund picture here, or
  • click here to visit the church website’s Hot Topics tab.
Then print, complete, and return to the church by mail or in person. A request for consideration may be submitted by an individual on behalf of another individual or organization, or by an individual or organization. The application form must be received at the church no later than Friday, August 7 for consideration this year. If you have any questions or need additional clarification, please contact Kathy Austin, chairperson of the Endowment Committee .
Thanks to those who have sent pictures of themselves and their pets (dog, cat, bird, tarantula, iguana, etc.) to be included in a slideshow during the prelude for Sunday worship! I need just a few more to have enough to make the show!

July Outreach: Project Aware
Project Aware provides an opportunity for the homeless to improve their lives and progress to self-sufficiency and independent living. They provide temporary shelter, affordable housing, and services to help the homeless achieve and maintain residential stability. They increase public awareness and understanding of the problem of homelessness and advocate for the homeless, many of whom have little or no voice in the decisions that affect their lives.
