WELCOME BACK VIDEO
A WORD ABOUT MASKS

Our policy here at OSM is we only require unvaccinated individuals to be masked for Mass and Church events. Vaccinated individuals may go without a mask. But, if you are vaccinated, you can still wear a mask to protect yourself (knowing your health needs) or wear a mask in solidarity with family, friends and neighbors.

You may have heard of the emerging threat of the delta variant creating a hazard for the unvaccinated (this group accounting for about 99% of the hospitalized), as well as the breakthrough cases impacting the vaccinated (anticipated by CDC and FDA in their warnings).

As we enter this new phase of the pandemic, I invite you to consider the best way for you to take care of yourself, your loved ones and those who make up your community. If you believe in the difference you can make, please wear your mask indoors and observe reasonable social distancing if you are able.

Thanks for your help and caring!

A NEW WAY TO GIVE

Our Old St. Mary’s parish app is still in the early stages of development, but our new giving platform, Pushpay is up and available for your use.

It is different from Give Central and geared toward USER CONTROL. As such you will be able to keep track of your giving on your smartphone or computer as well as obtain your own giving statements. To begin using Pushpay as a way to share your treasure go to https://pushpay.com/g/oldstmarys/  You can also access it from our website or from this QR code.
We do ask for your patience as we learn along with you in making the transition to a new giving platform.

PLEASE NOTE: The donation that you had in Give Central will not transfer over to Pushpay. You need to establish a new recurring donation in Pushpay.

Please reach out to us if you need help cancelling your recurring donation with Give Central. You can send an email to dawn@oldstmarys.com or call her at 312-922-3444, ext. 23.

Some have asked about setting up an annual contribution for Christmas and Easter. Right now the only options available are Weekly, Monthly, Bi-Weekly and 1st & 15th of the month. We explained to the developers of this new platform how important it is to have an option to make an annual contribution for occasions such as Christmas and Easter. We are hopeful that this option will be available once our Old St. Mary's app is active.

Thank you once again for responding to our request and making the move to this new payment platform. Please know we appreciate your generosity as well as your patience.
While we're excited to be able to operate at 100% capacity, we need help. We are looking for lectors, eucharistic ministers, ushers, greeters, and especially a sacristan. If you've served in any capacity prior to the pandemic and are ready to return to service OR you are interested in serving in one of these ministries, we need you. Any necessary training will be simple and brief, and we'll be able to accommodate your schedule.
Thank you!
We ask all ministers, veterans and newcomers, to please contact Scott for reactivation.
THINGS TO NOTE AS WE RETURN TO FULL CAPACITY AT OUR MASSES

  • All Masses are open. You no longer need to register to attend.

  • If you are fully vaccinated, you do not need to wear a mask. but are welcome do so if it makes you feel comfortable.

  • If someone is wearing a mask, please give them a little extra space.

  • You may sing and respond. The hymnals are back in the pews.

  • There will still be a worship aid available on our website for those not attending Mass in person.

  • Sanitizing and social distancing for Communion are no longer required.

  • Collection baskets will passed to collect your offerings. Thank you.

  • All Masses will continue to be livestreamed. The dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation is still in effect.
