Altar Angels Needed

We have a need for Altar Angels to help prepare the chancel for worship at Hope Central Campus!

There are a minimum of four worship services each week, along with additional services during holidays. We need Altar Angels who can serve at any or all services.

Won't you consider serving this wonderful ministry? This is a great opportunity, especially for couples who would like to serve together.

If you would like to be added to the team or request more information about the Altar Angels, please contact Nancy Metcalf at (612) 751-5884 or Lynn Voelkle at (352) 461-3832.

Saxophone Recording Artist Eirinn Abu

Coming to Hope Lutheran Church!

World-renowned saxophone recording artist Eirinn Abu is coming to Hope Lutheran Church!

Friday, August 15 at 6:00pm

Hope Central Campus

Registration is $15 per person. You can register online now by clicking the link below.

About the Artist:

Eirinn Abu began his journey with the saxophone at the age of 10 in Maryland, where his passion for the instrument quickly overshadowed all else, marking the start of his evolution into an extraordinary musician. His passion and hard work culminated in his debut smooth jazz album, graced by the Miami Sound Machine's accompaniment and Jon Secada's songwriting.

Eirinn Abu is celebrated for infusing his instrument with a soulful and emotive voice, earning him comparisons to the instrumental equivalents of Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli. His prowess secured Dolly Parton's vocals for “I Will Always Love You” on his albums "A New Creation," "Forever in Love," and "Sax in the Country." He has produced seven multiplatinum albums and recently finished his eighth career album, "ANTHEM," winning the 2025 World Entertainment Award.

In 2006, Einn Abu's music and voice became the hallmark sound for Millennium Hotels & Resorts, Lexus, and AAA Travel. In 2011 Eirinn Abu established Music for Life, sharing his music and testimony with over a thousand churches and charitable organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen, American Heart Association, Go Red for Women, Moffitt Cancer Centers, the Gary and Vivienne Player Foundation, and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

His latest mission is to initiate a national movement dedicated to establishing a Suicide Prevention Foundation. To experience his music, visit www.eirinnabu.com.

Hope South Campus Worship Center Update

In May 2025, the Church Council authorized Judd Dickerson, Hope’s architect, to finalize revised construction design documents for the redesigned Worship Center of 11,673 sf., with design input from structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consultants working with him.

On June 17, 2025, the Church Council authorized Judd Dickerson to enter into the following contracts based on the modified building footprint of the Worship Center:

A. CFB, Hope’s civil engineering firm, to update the design of site improvements and to obtain permit modification from the City of Wildwood.

B. Michael Pape and Associates, Hope’s Landscape Architects, to update the landscaping plans for site lighting, hardscape, landscaping and irrigation.

Once Judd Dickerson receives revised design drawings from these consultants, he will finalize a set of construction drawings for review by Hope. When this final set of construction drawings are reviewed and approved by Hope, we will commence the bidding phase of this redesigned Worship Center Project.

It is anticipated that this phase will start at the beginning of August 2025.

Thank You to Carole Rasmussen from the Archive Team

As of June 2025, after more than ten years of devoted service, Carole Rasmussen has resigned her position on the Archive Team.

Carole began her archive work in mid-2015, under the leadership of Sally Jorgensen and Fran Barbrick. In January 2016, when Sally and Fran retired, Carole agreed to become co-leader of the team, along with Kathryn Clement. Since then, Carole has captured photos of church activities. She has carefully and thoroughly proofed the monthly archives, ensuring their accuracy before they went to press. And she has put in many hours of hard labor in preparation for the archive displays on the 20th and 25th anniversaries of the founding of Hope Lutheran Church.

We would like to thank Carole for her assistance in recording the history of Hope, and her tireless efforts on behalf of the Archive Team. She will be sorely missed!

Endowment Funds Awarded

The Endowment Committee is pleased to announce the awarding on Wednesday, June 18 of a $7,500 grant to Hope's Scholarship Committee. This grant is awarded under the category of outreach to the community.

The funds held in Hope's Endowment are held in a special reserve fund in perpetuity for the continued ministry of Hope Lutheran Church. Only the income/earning of the endowment shall be used for the religious, charitable, benevolent, and educational purposes of Hope Lutheran Church. For more information about the Endowment Fund, please visit the Endowment section of Hope's website, hope4all.church.

The Scholarship Committee has awarded grants to local high school seniors getting ready to enroll in college or trade schools. The Endowment Committee as well as the Scholarship Committee would encourage members of Hope to contribute to the scholarship fund through their offering. After all, this is part of our "youth program"!
