We are just 2 months away from our 11th Annual PHB5K. We are so excited to see you all there (though a virtual option is available for those who can't participate in-person). Add to the fun by forming or joining a team with your family, friends or co-workers! We are all looking forward to the 5K walk or run (leisurely or competitive), basket raffle, medal ceremony, Superhero Sprint for the little ones, children's games, art show, food, music and more! We end the morning with a memorial ceremony for those lives cut too short by brain cancer. Mostly our event is an opportunity to celebrate and bring HOPE to those youth battling brain cancer. Please see below for other ways to be involved! Stay tuned to emails and social media posts for updates!

The PHB 5K is the primary fundraising effort for the Pray~Hope~Believe Foundation (PHBF). PHBF was established to honor the memory of our 6-year-old son, Tony, who died on July 4, 2011 after an almost three-year-battle with brain cancer. PHBF’s primary goal is to raise funds for pediatric brain cancer research because brain cancer is the #1 disease killer of children in the United States. PHBF’s mission also includes supporting families who have a child diagnosed with a brain tumor – through social support (like our Family Camp Day), financial support, and a prayer ministry. To date, we have funded more than $649,000 in pediatric brain cancer research. We have also provided scholarships and support programs for children battling brain cancer.  Because we are a strictly volunteer-run organization, all profits go directly toward our mission. We fund specific grants so we know exactly how our funds are being used and by whom. We hold our researchers accountable to using funds as promised and providing us with regular status updates.  We are only able to do this because of supporters like YOU! See you on the 4th!

With HOPE and appreciation,

Rick and Lynne Merk
