On July 26, Hope will host a benefit concert for Ariana Sankar, a Villages Charter School student who suddenly became ill in December 2023.

Due to her extreme and unexplained illness, Ariana became paralyzed and needed to be supplied with oxygen. She was then transferred to a top hospital where, despite the efforts of her medical team, she has yet to be diagnosed and continues to suffer.

Ariana's friends and family have partnered with Hope's Music Department to host a benefit show featuring music, dancing, and other special performances. No registration is required. A love offering will be taken to benefit Ariana.

To learn more about Ariana's journey, watch the video below.

Caring Through Stephen Ministers

Spiritual gifts are gifts to give away. God gives them to us, and we use them to serve others.

How are you using your gifts right now? Are you looking for a new way to use them?

If your spiritual gifts include one or more of the following — love, faith, mercy, compassion, kindness, or encouragement — consider Stephen Ministry, our congregation’s one-to-one caregiving ministry for people undergoing a challenging time.

This may be just what you’ve been looking for! Training begins in September. Contact Deacon Kathy Smith at (352) 399-5103 or deaconkathy@hope4all.church to learn more about this ministry.

Support the Back-to-School Shoe & Backpack Drive

From now through July, the Hope Lake Weir Campus Food Pantry is sponsoring a Back-to-School Shoe & Backpack Drive to benefit the children who visit our Hope Lake Weir Campus Food Pantry. Many of these children do not have adequate footwear and may be forced to attend school without supplies...unless they receive our help!

If you would like to make a donation, please make checks payable to Hope Lutheran Church and indicate Shoe & Backpack Drive on the memo line. You could also use an envelope to direct a cash donation (please write Shoe & Backpack Drive on the envelope).

We will use your donations to purchase shoes in the needed sizes, along with backpacks which we will pack with school supplies. Every donation counts as we continue to support these deserving children. Thank you for your generosity!

25 Years of Hope Lutheran Church

As we look toward our 25th Anniversary in October 2024, we are also remembering our history! We will look back on years' past and remember some important moments in the life of our church.

Back in 2007...

Disaster struck on February 2, 2007 when an EF3 tornado with a track of 16.5 miles (now known nationwide as the Groundhog Day Tornado) touched down in The Villages at approximately 3:10am.

Hope's Disaster Immediate Response Team (D.I.R.T.) responded to assist with clean up and to assess damage to local homes. Hope's volunteers spent many long weeks chopping fallen trees, removing debris, and being the hands and feet of Christ to our neighbors during this difficult time.

Hope's congregation distributed gift cards to families in need and ultimately raised $4,600 to assist in recovery. D.I.R.T. had a similar response to the October tornado in Eustis, when they partnered with Charlie's Angels from Faith Lutheran in Pasco County, California to lead a recovery effort.

On February 4, Hope's Memorial Garden was dedicated by members of the Honor Guard from Belleview VFW Post #8083 and featured a 21-gun salute.

Hope hosted our first SeniorFest on February 18 and welcomed Dr. Paul Maier, an acclaimed Christian author. On March 2, we hosted the first Seeds of Hope benefit concert and welcomed the Lenny Wilson Trio.

On June 2 and 3, the God Squad from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville, Georgia presented during all worship services.
