Balancing Safety and Privacy

In order to help schools understand FERPA, the U.S. Department of Education Privacy Technical Assistance Center released "School Resource Officers,School Law Enforcement Units, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)." This FAQ document addresses general requirements, disclosures, law enforcement records, health or safety emergency exceptions, and much more. To view the document, click here .

Final Chance to Register for Digital Threat Assessment Classes in Peoria

The goal of the Digital Threat Assessment class is to give attendees a stronger understanding of the current social media world, tools to be able to proactively identify student safety concerns, and provide strategies for dealing with online situations as they arise. Building upon the Digital Threat Assessment class, Advanced Digital Threat Assessment will leave participants with a concrete understanding of how to find and curate relevant digital information as is typically represented in a real-life digital threat assessment data gathering scenario.
