Message from President Sara Beacham

Greetings!
Hello Summer, and happy new Soroptimist year! We have officially started our 2021-2022 Soroptimist year. I feel incredibly blessed, lucky and fortunate to be leading this amazing organization of extraordinary women!
My focus for this year is to serve women and girls who have a thirst for greatness. Greatness within themselves, greatness within our club, greatness in family, and greatness for those who can’t yet see their greatness. That’s why I say, “Advocate for Great!” We must be advocates for those we work with and those we serve. We have the opportunity to shine as our organization, Soroptimist International, turns 100 years old this year.
Speaking of turning 100 years old, the 100-Year Legacy Project ad hoc committee will be working on several exciting marketing efforts over the summer to tell the community about Soroptimists. Have you contributed your “Why I am a Soroptimist?” video yet? Now is the time. Submit a 30-second video to Joyce Brown. Don’t have the tech savvy? That’s okay. Ask me or one of the other tech team members. We would be happy to help you record your video.
Committees are dark in July, and we don’t start meeting again (IRL) until September 1. That’s right! We are going back to the Elks Lodge for our regular lunch meetings starting September 1, 2021. More details will come as it gets closer. In the meantime, President-Elect Kathy Erickson has put together a calendar of informal lunch meetings at local Soroptimist-owned restaurants; there are a couple of coffee gatherings, too. Join us Wednesday, July 7 at 12:00 noon at La Comida, Wednesday, July 14 at Kalico Kitchen, and Wednesday, July 21 at La Comida. You can also join us at Bonnie Chapman’s house at 9:00 am on July 28th for backyard coffee.
I look forward to working with all of you this year. Thank you for putting your trust in me. Now, get out there and dance!
President Sara

Still Needed SI Objectives Co-chairs
"Where are my leaders at? I need just two individuals to lead the SI Objectives committee. This is an important committee that houses membership and our Dream programs, Live Your Dream and Dream It Be It. The committee is full of strong women (we all are strong women). I need you, just two of you, to help lead this committee. Many thanks! ~Sara"
