Weekly Update for July 7, 2026

SUMMER STUDY: FAITH250 STARTS THIS WEEK

It is not too late to join us for Faith250 which starts this Thursday, July 9th. Led by Emily and Susan Steinberg of Providence Presbyterian Church, faith250 is a program that invites faith leaders and communities across our country to form clusters of congregations to act as sacred space for listening to one another, clarifying our shared civic values, and celebrating our hopes for America in 2026, our country's 250th anniversary. These small group discussions will center on some of America's most important texts - such as The Declaration of Independence, Emma Lazarus's The New Colossus, America the Beautiful, Frederick Douglass's address What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?, and Abraham Lincoln's The Gettysburg Address.

When: Thursday July 9, 23 and 30 from 10:00 - 11:30 am

Where: Grace Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, 2955 River Road West, Goochland, VA

RSVP: gracechurch2955@gmail.com ASAP

More information, including the texts to be explored, can be found at this link.

PATHWAYS TO PRAYER & PRACTICE UPDATES

Thank you to all who shared feedback in our first round of Pathways surveys—we’re grateful for your help in shaping a deeper understanding of our community’s needs and gifts. We look forward to bringing you more updates and opportunities to connect as we plan for the program year.

In the meantime; a few reminders and upcoming opportunities:

  • Children’s Activity Bags: We know little ones can get the wiggles during church, and we want to make it easier for families to worship together! In the children’s section in the back pews, you’ll find bags with Bible-themed coloring books, stickers, and quiet activities to help kids stay engaged during the service.

  • Summer Worship Teams: Sign up for a (grand)parent and child team to serve together as Ushers, Acolytes, or Readers. It’s a wonderful way for younger members to learn and take part in worship. No experience? No worries! We will be there to teach and guide you through the process. Sign up on the sheet outside the Narthex or email Katie Kirkley and she will assist you!
