July 8, 2020
Dear Neighbors,
When COVID-19 first impacted our community in March, my office began to hear from many nonprofits and local organizations who needed assistance with obtaining donations, recruiting volunteers and reaching those in need. We were also getting a large number of requests from our neighbors who wanted to help! On March 13 we published the first version of
How to Help Your Neighbors in Hunter Mill District
. Unfortunately, here we are four months later and the need is still great – and in some areas it has grown. We recently updated the page and I encourage you to
take a look
and see if there is even some small way you can help. All of our efforts together will make a difference!
More importantly we also need to work together to stay healthy. As you will note in the COVID-19 chart and
graphs
below, our data continues to look promising. However, we cannot let our guard down — we are still in a pandemic until a vaccine is available, which may be several months away. Please wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands and stay home when you are sick. Let's keep those numbers going down!
Respectfully,
Walter
